For those asking, the Prison is currently only out on the Beta branch! Make sure to opt in on Steam. (Right click the game in your library ---> Properties ---> Beta tab ---> Then choose the Beta from the dropdown box)
@@wojtek9675 it's not. And you don't need a key make sure phasmo is closed and follow his steps. The key is only for other builds. If it shows beta just click it and it should say Phasmophobia -[beta]
Ambience noise with random things are always scarier than thing you know will happen. And certain noises like groans croaks have happened so much hes like oh hi there
As a former prison guard, got to say that sound, that high pitched one? Yeah, that takes me back to some memories. The sound easily can be a cell door squeaking as it's shut or opened. The signs on the outside are a very good touch, really helps the atmosphere and immersion. Though the way the place looks I would say it's more of a county rather than a state or federal prison. The mess hall and the like are a little too close to the cells for instance. That and there are only ( IF I counted correctly as well as read the map right ) 60 cells, chances are 2 men to each cell meaning only 120 possibly inmates, along with some possibly confined to the medical wing for more serious injures. Trying to think about what N.E.M could be as well, as TEDC and GDoC prisons normally end with a P, GDCP, or just where called " Name " Unit. M could be Medical as that medical wing looked pretty damned advanced compared to the units I've worked in. It could be North (State) Medical Prison, NEMP. Sorry went on a random tangent but the inner lore on things is always something I dig about games, and frankly, I would love it if they added little lore nuggets in some of the places we go to. Shame that couldn't call the place N.E.W.P, because after a few hunts I would likely NEWP the hell out of there. I shall see myself out XD
@@sharynkerr8378 In the past maybe, but the prisons I've worked at have basically zero privacy. In TEDC, the unit I worked at, we woke them up, marched them to a big building out of the block they were in, and took them to a building that had very little room to hide and do anything in, and had to stand around and wait to make sure no one did anything dumb. In GDC depending on the "House" you were in, The showers were just little areas off to the side where if you stood in the middle you could see everything and anything. LIke 6 shower heads on one side, 6 on the other. Nah they don't do it in the shower most the time, most of the time they just try to swap cells so they can pay with a honey bun to get their honey. Which of course is a no go and you get the inmate out of the cell and off to their own cell. The shower thing could happen sure, but it's mostly a Hollywood thing. If a guard is doing their job it won't happen.
@@jackstailers3248 I made the joke that during a haunt if you are in the cells they will all close and it will be a lockdown. I wanted so badly for something like that to happen, because i know exactly what I would do in that situation had it happened to me in the real world. I always tend to look for the quickest exits in any given situation anyway so this will be a weird bit of old memories haha. Cool to hear others had family working in the system. Not a job I would do forever till retirement but those that do it always got my respect.
@@TheGamerNamedTony yeah. It is cool to see someone who has worked in a prison too. The past 2 generations of my mom side(her, and her dad) have worked at the same prison here in Arkansas. She worked back in the 90s and I think my grandpa may still be working there, or he probably retired. I dunno. Don’t care to know. Stay safe!
@@rolandmate8584 They fixed it, but after entering through the front, going through the "lobby's" double door, on one of the two there's always fingerprints. Got 2 lobbies confused so far. They have fixed it.

I think the crucifix should have an optional secondary use, where if you're holding it in hand when a ghost hunts, it will instantly break the crucifix (one charge only in that case), end the hunt, and it will count as preventing a hunt with a crucifix. This will make crucifixes more useful for a single person rather than a group of people, and will make some missions easier such as getting a photo of the ghost, and especially the crucifix mission.
That, plus it would make a crucifix easier to use in large rooms. With how it works now, you have to place the crucifix so its field is exactly where a ghost will spawn for a hunt. It frequently makes large rooms (especially ones like in the prison) a guessing game, even with multiple crucifix. It would be good if they went with your suggestion. Either that, or make it so that a ghost walking over a crucifix will end a hunt, so you can “block” doors and narrow hallways.
@@corvidaegudmund1186 I'd also like to see a cracked or damaged looking crucifix to show that one charge has been used already. Or some kind of an indication that it worked without having to go to the van and saying "yup, mission wiped off." Maybe give it a decaying design or something, idk.
Nuzzgard, when you're looking at a camera on the computer, the camera indicator on the map board changes from yellow to green, helping you find where your team is/where the room is
I admire the ability for anybody not to get lost on these and larger size maps. Even when I watch people playing I lose my sense of direction. Glad I was able to catch part of your stream today as well =)
Just dropping a comment to let you know you're a great and seriously underrated youtuber! Been enjoying your videos a ton and it got me into buying the game. I convinced some of my friends and we've been scared doing even the smallest of beginner houses :) We are still super scared but manage very well with all the tips you give. Keep it up :)
There could be multiple, with someone who died in a hospital gown because they couldn’t be saved after a shanking or like you said a guard that died on the job

Prison is a huge improvement with their map making. My biggest problem with Asylum (and High School to a lesser extent) is that everything looks so similar so it's easy to get lost and hard to describe where you are. Prison is fairly sizable, but the different areas all look distinct and are labeled so you can figure out your position without getting frustrated. Only issue with it is some of the rooms are very big, which makes tools like smudge sticks and motion sensors hard to use
I don’t know if you just forgot or don’t know but the default cameras that you are viewing are highlighted green on the map, so all you had to do was stay on the camera that saw the ghost orbs and check where on the map it is
I love playing this alone! Because im not scared of anything I can just walk in except I get anxious about what if that? Why that doing that? What was that walking? Where did that noise come from? All those questions, no answer makes me jumpy for some reason, very good vid mate! Keep it up.
The fingerprint bug happened to us too! We saw two fingerprint and even took a picture of it, but when the game ends, it says the ghost was also a Jinn. These Jinns are pranksters! lol
no idea how this guy has the balls to do this new medium sized map by himself professional first time. I'd have to get 3 other ppl to just mentally support me cuz i'd get hella scared from a teensy noise probably
Just a little tip for all, me and a friend of mine noticed this weekend that fingerprints on the Prison map is currently bugged (might be patched now, idk) but we found multiple fingerprints all over the map in every single room, and when we finished the game and started on a new one we got the same fingerprints again on the same doors, switches, windows etc, so just a reminder that atm fingerprints might not be as reliable og a clue than what it should be
Very nice, shame about the bug there at the end. I was playing the other day and also had a problem with the video camera - it wasn't showing up on the truck feed even though it was definitely on, so watch out for that. Also, I was wondering what controls you were using - is it just the regular PC WASD setup?
I had the same thing happen to me this morning. Turns out the double doors there, a d on the lobby and probably b block as well, all have permanent fingerprints on them. Dev probably had them on so he can check where they were and forgot to turn them off that model
I played the prison map today and on my first game the ghost opened the first door to the left😕. I was hoping to explore a little bit before I found it😂😂 a couple of games later and it is now my favourite map.
Once he first entered the building, I was repeating "Nope" That place is creepy, scary and needs to be demolished I wouldn't survive two seconds being alone in that vile place

i used to think that all the strange events in this video are controlled by the ghost... but the sounds you hear are ambience sounds and the flying thing is a glitch

23:05 I have seen that a couple times before. It's not something new but I still don't know what it is. I call it a "ghost bolt". It's like a bullet being shot out, rapidly moving in a straight line and through walls. It doesn't seem to have anything to do with the ghosts location though. But then what does it mean?
Thermometer, try to find rooms that are 0-12c. Listen for sounds for me playing aslyum the second time we had a kitchen ghost and I knew because I heard a microwave beep. Always listen to your surroundings, emf reader can help too just keep asking to give you a sign and if it goes up switch to spirit box or something if its a spirit box ghost it'll give you a nice message. And to survive hopefully you can outrun the ghost and hide. Make sure you close the doors and crouch and position your flashlight down. The ghost typically can't see your flashlight but if you're in the same room as a ghost it can.
