I tuned into the late night Olympics for the previous day replays. Breaking was on and thought "what the heck, seriously", but I stuck it out and watched the whole ladies event and was amazed. I said to myself, "this is a whole lot better than watching the trampoline event. That got old after 60 seconds".
She somehow was on a panel that selected the 3rd party people and organizations that were in charge of selecting the participants. And she selected her husband's or boyfriend as one of the 3rd party's, and of course he selected her. Ridiculous. I could see Jim Carrey in SNL days doing her "dance"
She and her husband are under investigation. He was the Australian team leader and changed the rules for their league or whatever. the day of Olympic trials 2 other breakers had way more talent than her and got scored lower, that's how she made the Olympic team. They could be looking at jail time. They cooked the books.
My neighbor use to break dance, we went to elementary together. One art that is lost with the times. I remember my grandma's reaction when she went to a dance off and seen him do his thing!
Are you serious they got break dancing in the Olympics no disrespect at all because some of the things they do are incredible but like it is completely different from what is known to be the Olympics
@@WestyCoastHermit Its because it was a demo. None of those medals are real Olympic medals. They already said it wont be coming back. And she and her husband are under investigation now.
Takes away from the medal winners. I am 56 years old and I could confidentally say I could have done a better routine and I have never breakdanced in my life!
All breaks must endure a tripartite qualifying route to earn a spot for the Olympics. Ragun's performance was based on self expression and dance. The dance encourages playfulness, freedom, creativity, energetic, chaotic, carefree and silly movements. There needs to be consequences for those involved including Regun for falsifying her records to compete in the Olympics. Regun is a dancer not a break dancer.
Lets talk about the Australian Committee responsible for this 40 years lady with no talent performing at the Olympics!!! Who was in that committee? Anna Meares! responsible and probably who decided that Raygun was good enough to participate.... she and Raygyn's husband were in the jury to choose who will go to Paris. And her Husband was also in Paris, probably paid by the committee too. All this is a scandal!!!!! Anna Maeres had the audacity to say that Raygun was the best female B-girl in Australia, we all know this is a lie!! they did this together!!!! and she claimed Raygun did very well!!!!! and is BS, people are criticizing her because she have no talent and had no business in the Olympics. ...... Someone should look into Anna Meares and the Olympic Australian authorities too, We demand an investigation on how Raygun got elected to represent Australia, Australian tax payers should ask for a refund of all that committee and Raygun spend in Paris!!!!! And what people like me find worse, is not that Raygun went to the Olympics, but her reaction afterwards, she was entitled and with a smile, said " I am totally braking stereotypes" "I did my best" and that was enough" knowing her best was not good enough for entertaining at a children's birthday-party, much less at the Olympics. In the Olympics you dont get a gold star for participation like in kindergarten!! and "I have a PHD" yes, I believe it!! she have a PHD in cleaning the floor....
All breakers must endure a tripartite qualifying route to earn a spot for the Olympics. Regan's performance was a self expression through movement and dance. The dance encourages playfulness, freedom, creativity, movement, energetic, choatic, carefree and silliness. Everyone who took part with Regun going to the Olympics should be disqualfied from further involvement.
Ice dance, synchronised swimming... why not breakdancing? This was immense for the sport’s (art’s) visibility. Breaking culture hasn't broken British TV since the days of the RSC (Rock Steady Crew, not Royal Shakespeare Company), but there it was in people’s homes, in pubs, in takeaways. As for Raygun, thank God social media wasn’t big in the days of Eddie the Eagle.
I’d like to believe that she ruined breakdancing in the Olympics. But yes, breakdancing shouldn’t be in the Olympics because it’s an art more than a sporting event. On a side note, my old boss was one of the extra kids in the movie Breakin’.
The Olympics this time around we're just a total shame.... our entire world has gone to hell in a hand basket. How she got there?! People VOTED for her to go!!! Who?!?!? Who would vote her in?!
So its not the threat of nuclear armageddon, genocide or war in history that met the standard of “the world is going to hell”? Instead, its one fluke person conned their way into an olympic event? I think you’re a bit warped there pawpaw! 😅
I bet on the whole planet there isn't even more than 1000 people that are doing breakdancing it faded away in the early 90s lucky break dancing is out of the Olympics now because if it stayed ballroom dancing would have been next
@@palomaalhambra2453 they've been cracking down hard on any vids with Olympic footage. Even the official Olympic youtube channel doesn't have any breaking vids that are still viewable!
