Nope! Theres no 'advancing' your gameplan, as there is in Magic. Magic is "get stronger over time". Flesh and Blood is about two heroes getting weaker over time. While heroes do have gameplans, you have 4 cards to work with over your and your opponent's turn. Its on both players to understand what to block with, when to block, and what hands represent enough damage or effects to be worth trading some amount of damage for. Is there power creep? Not really. Tales of Aria was the power creep set, and every single one of those heroes have since Living Legend'd in Classic Constructed. Its best to think of Flesh and Blood as a fighting game. Its nothing like Magic, other than being a card game.

The "interaction" is primarily what you are threatening as "On Hit" effects. While there are a few heroes that can represent unstoppable disruption, usually its about trading blows and understanding how to get key damage and on-hits through. Ranger and Assassin in particular have nasty on-hits ("disruption") that incentivizes players to block, making their own turn weaker.

@@lambda6736 In my experience, attacking with any card worth playing is much stronger than blocking with it, but if you go second, you are forced to block to not die at some point while the person who went first can just keep attacking because you threw away options in order to block on their turn. Translating from my original comment, advancing the gameplan is attacking, interaction is blocking

@@the_r4ts Thats a really poor simplification of the game though, to which Id say is a misunderstanding of the mechanics. (With all due respect, of course.) At no point in time would I call "blocking" interacting. On-hits can be interaction. D-reacts can be interaction. Or one could say "every single action is interaction bc its between you and the opponent". But then, is damage "interaction"??? Magic interaction is "killing a threat" or "countering a threat" before the threat gets to really impact board state. Its answering problematic game pieces on the board. There is no such thing in Flesh and Blood. You MAY want D-reacts to cover nasty breakpoints and on-hits, but due to how the game's math works, the Reds will be 'over' or just on-rate. Blues will be under rate. The average is thus 'on rate' for 3 dmg-ish per card. Its more effective to pitch Blues, and swing with Reds. But later in the game, your decks offensive quality is significantly weaker. Decks that aim to 'Grapple' will patiently make efficient blocks and stack pitch to later have flawlessly powerful back-to-back attacks that have evasive damage. (Such as Bravo, where they often Fridge block and Hammer for Four until second cycle, whereupon you can bet they will Crippling Crush you into the floor, 3 turns in a row) But what of that is 'interaction'? Whats the 'threat'? The threat might be on-hit effects. Sure. But that makes blocking "interaction" since its an answer to the threat. Which makes ALL of Flesh and Blood interactive, since your entire hand (usually) can block. Magic terms and ideas dont all apply well to FaB, and 'interaction' is one of them. The entire game is a fighting game, which is CONSTANT back and forth between two players. Call that 'interaction' if you wish. Additionally, going first also is a very complicated decision, and its not 'strictly better' all the time.

What exactly does playing ranked get you? Have you seen the miniscule increment of rewards you get from Platinum to Mythic? Literally a waste of time to try and get to Mythic.

​@stevendefeo8424 Embrace the busted nature of the format. Play some broken cards. Do crazy combos. Set off a deluge of triggers. That's where the fun is. If you're trying to play fair magic, you're probably going to have a bad time. It does lend itself more to seasoned players with an extensive collection and tons of wildcards.
