Amazing review as always! Recently broke my nose during Muay Thai sparring. I know that the best solution for defense is to improve head movement but cannot afford to be out from training and work for another 2-3 weeks. What would you recommend for a face saver headgear under $200?

I found it to be much sleeker and slimmer on my head the the Fly Superbar as the Fly Superbar wraps around my nose and high check bones vs the Phenom FSHG-250 which wraps lower around my mouth and jaw and more narrow area

Mahhh man! thanks for the review. How are the ear donuts in these? I Have the fly's but the ear donuts are like slits -- extremely uncomfortable.

Thanks for you amazing review bro you helped me so much with gloves and shoes ! Now it's Headgear time lol and I dont know wich one to buy between this one and the no bare version ( I have pretty long and big nose lol ) but I'm scared to lose too much vision and can't put my gloves close to my face ( peek a boo style ). I would like to know what choice you would have made ? Sorry for the broken english and keep the good work

I contacted the manufacturer regarding the protection. They couldn’t mention anything about concussion reduction. They don’t have numbers. The foam they use might not reduce concussions or absorb impacts protecting your brain. From the head guards you have reviewed do you know any which really reduce the impacts?

My advice has always been a headguard is NOT part of your defence Improve your hand defence Head movement Footwork to evade / block punches This the way to reduce concussions or impacts to the brain

@@Fit2Box of course improving the neck and head movement and skills will always be better! However, we are talking about a product which was designed to specifically protect the head the protection that this product offers should be assessed. Even the winning headgear doesn’t offer numbers, what headgear would you recommend then?

Headgear is only used to prevent cuts. That's always been their purpose.

Does it protect you better for example if you receive a punch to the forehead rather than a cheek protector? Or it’s kinda same?:)

@@Augur007 well, if the punch is accurate (something like a stiff jab) then yes. I decided to move on with a facebar version. Don’t know why but I had worse vision from sides in their cheek version, so decided to stay with a facebar

Yes but remember improve your hand defence head movement so the headguard is not seen as part of your defence it shouldn’t be
