In this one, we join forces with our good friend ‪@KatyDidRocks‬ and head way downstream to do some rockhounding on the Yellowstone River! This particular area holds incredible variety and some of the highest cutting grade agatized wood in the state and oh man did we hit the jackpot! we found jaspers in just about every color, wood so silicified that they look like agates, several coral fossils, dark beautiful mossy agates, and some extremely oddball specimens such as a chunk of yellow "jasperized" wood, a Treasure State Agate that looks just like a Fairburn agate, and one of the strangest banded agates I have ever seen! We found such a treasure trove and had such a blast doing it! Let me know which find was your favorite, and I hope you all enjoyed this one!

What fun! If I was forced to choose a fave it would have to be that impossibly yellow jasperized wood, but they are all beautiful

You weren't kidding when you said you went way down stream! I know that spot! Don't give up all your secret spots, first video I've seen with so many clues. Funny that Katy just tells where you are in her video :D I may be in the area next week, will have to stop by the shop. Or maybe i will see you on the river if its not totally flooded.

Fantastic video. Always so cool to see 2 of my favourite rock tubers make a video together. I really love those jasper Agates. I recently found a couple of beauties, in New Zealand we call them storm Agates. I actually made a video recently with them in it. Really love the beautiful wood too

Wow! I love jaspers, and those were absolutely some fantastic jaspers! Especially the plume jasper! And all the yellowstone river agates are special. That is what makes them so sought after! But the agatized wood! In my opinion, yellowstone agatized or even just pet wood, is the finest in the USA! The variety and color variations, and species, and degree of agatization, makes it the most sought after pet woods! And your finds were spectacular! That burl piece is my favorite find of the day! I cant wait to see that piece slabbed! Which means a trip to see kim!!! Those videos are some of my favorites! All in all, it was a fabulous day with Kate and Kava! Thanks for taking us along!

I just placed my first order with you! Super excited! Can’t tell you how many times I’ve tried purchasing from you and every time I went to your Etsy store and it was closed. Thank god you mentioned the sale at the end of your video! :) I also learned something. I found this wicked looking piece on the reservation that I thought was an old man toe nail! Turns out it’s a fossil! The devils toe nail! Wow! I’m glad I kept it! I had no idea what I found! :)

The more I watch your show, the more I feel I am slowly getting a grip on identifying at least some of the different types of rocks, agates, and petrified wood. Have always found petrified wood here in Texas, but had never heard anything about agatized petrified wood. I'm really wanting to go see if I can find some you're locally! 🕵️

I agree, I have one with a very similar pattern but the lines actually create textured ridges. I think the one Theo has might just be river-worn which is why it's smooth. Min also looks a bit like petrified wood on the sides that don't have the squiggly lines.

So, the geode is forming crystals and you crack it open, do the geode’s continue to form crystals as it sits on the shelf’s?? How’s that work. Grows till it runs out of space? So if it’s open does it fill again to a geode? 🤔
