I bought this system last month after watching your review of the PTU-5000. Amazon was showing it out of stock for a few weeks and then it showed up at my door step 5 days later. I have used it twice and I am very happy with the performance of the PTU-7000.
i have the PTU-5000 and have been happy with it so far. Super fun for home or small events. Having the variable frequencies would give confidence in larger settings where you may be getting frequency overloads.
Love it! Love it!! Love it!!! Maaaan! I was looking for a good mic set up and was dreading having to come up with $500-$800 for one mic and receiver. Here I get four mics for less than the price of one, (shure or sennheizer). You put it out, I took it in. Cleveland Terry has done it again!!!
i just ordered this only because of your review. You are more candid than the other vloggers, I checked out the other vloggers reviews on the PTU5000 and they never even mentioned how horrible the on and off switch is (that doesnt have a standby mode) but you mentioned it. Also we laughed about how you said the logo isn't even on the PTU500 mics---thats honesty in a nutshell. I hope to meet you at Expo 2022 in Vegas!
Kept coming across the Phenyx brand on my Facebook page. Was thinking it was too good to be true, even thought it appeared to be a handsome unit. Starting doing a little homework to see what professionals were saying. Thank you for the review. You helped me make up my mind.
Thanks for the review, Cleveland! I bought the PTU 7000 after watching this video and getting consistent dropouts with cheap AF wireless mics. No frequency control, barely any volume control, and a TS receiver that kept getting bumped and moved around led to dropouts. Haven't had an issue with this system and am that much more confident in addressing my clients' needs!
THANK YOU Cleveland for doing this review! I’ve been a KJ for years, but I’m finally putting together my own equip to do my own gigs. I’m used to using the Shure Beta58a wireless mics, but the pgxd24/Beta58a sets are on back order everywhere, so I’ve been looking for something cheaper to use while I wait that still sounds decent. Thank you for such an honest, thorough review. I’m buying them today! Love your channel, and even though your channel is aimed mostly for DJs I find your insight incredibly helpful. :)
@@ClevelandTerry Cleveland, on a side note, how has the longevity been for this system. I am looking to purchase to replace 3 shure units. I just don't want it dropping out on us 6 months after we get it. Currently running into connection issues with one of the units only a year after purchase.
@@ClevelandTerry SO IF I WANT TO RAP FOR CASH AND IM OUTSIDE WHERE PANHANDLERS ARE LIKE AT STOP LIGHTS AND INTERSECTIONS WHAT WOULD BE YOUR TOP RECOMMENDED FOR BLACK FRIDAY SALES ?? AND DO I NEED A MIXER ??? I HAVE A 3 BIG BOOM BOXES THAT HAVE SETTINGS THAT I CAN PLAY THE SOUND FROM PLEASE HELP FAST !!!
I went back to find this video because I thought I missed it but didn't realize if was a video from a year ago. I watched this one, but thought that you had a newer set you were going to review. I see Phenyx advertising their PTU model of mics now that look real good and thought maybe you got some of those.
I have been using the Phenyx Pro U7000 for over year now at a karaoke bar, it sounds really good and feels like an expensive microphone. The only two things that i don't really like about the mic is the off and on switch, Singers keep turning it off and on when they shouldn't be. And when the mic gets dropped on the hard floor, the Mic head gets easily damaged and needs to get replaced. The problem is that You can't just purchase a new mic head. The good thing is that replacing the mic itself will only cost you about $40.00.
Would you recommend the PTU 7000 for singers in a live band setting? We would all be on IEM’s so there wouldn’t be a ton of stage volume besides the drum kit.
Check out the GTD Audio mics and do a review. I've had 2 sets of these for years. For Karaoke or weddings they have never failed me. I've got the G-622 model and all mics can be frequency change. The range is way over 350 feet. Good review Terry
I just bought the latest model Phenyx Pro Wireless Microphone System, True Diversity Dual Cordless Microphone Set and couldn't get one that worked properly. I loved the price point and really wanted this to work but just fell short.
Cleveland Terry yeah I saw that a little further down in the comments. I ended up getting the PTU-71 after looking at your review of the 7000 and other reviews of the 71. I’ve been looking for a solid backup mic to my Shure (really hard watching the best man hold your baby while making a toast when you know that dude was drinking way too much prior to introductions LOL). Thank you Sir. Keep up the awesome reviews!!
Thank you for making this video. I watched all your videos (Phenyx Pro) and found them very useful, thankyou. My question is if I am needing 8 mics would it be better to get the 8 channel PTU 6000A single rackmount or is it better to get the PTU 7000A 4 channel / 4 mic rackmount instead? Is there any benefit using two 4ch rackmounts over the single channel 8 channel rackmount?
Awesome review man, I just ordered me a set, I am wondering something, so it looks like you can remove the capsule on those as well, and I am wondering if you can actually use a Shure capsule on these, and they look like they are built the same as the Shure, would you be able to maybe take the capsule off and see if a sm58 is compatible? It’s funny phenyx doesn’t sell capsules, even tho their mics have removable capsules
Doing a show with rappers and singers outside on a roof and I was thinking of going wired with the shire 58’s but if you think these will do the trick for singers and rappers i will grab this. thanks in advance
I am new to wireless microphones I received these yesterday hook them up via XLR cable I have it hooked up to powered amplifier Yamaha EMX66, I had my wired Sure SM58 wired connected and my Sure Wireless microphone connected. All set to same volume with volume on mixer set in my usual spot I notice my two Shure mics very very lol and sounded identical I had the crank up the volume on this new one to about double of the Shures to get the same volume. Is this normal?
CLEVELAND TERRY I BOUGHT THIS SYSTEM (THE 5000) FOR AN UPGRADE USING SHURE SM58 WIRED MICS FOR CHURCH SERVICES AND I CAN SAY ALL THE SINGERS LOVE THE WAY THE MICS FEEL AND THE PASTOR WAS ESPECIALLY SURPRISED AT THE SOUND LEVELS THEY PUT OUT.. I HAVE BEEN USING THEM FOR ABOUT 2 MONTHS NOW AND LOVE IT. I GIVE IT 4.5 OUT OF 5 SO FAR.
The great part about about the PTU 5000 , is actually the location of the mic power switch , it's out of the grasp of singers , where you have it ....I've been hosting Karaoke shows for 16 years or so ..An ongoing problem is that singers are ALWAYS hitting and squeezing the on /off switch causing the mic to cut in and out ..The main body of the mic is a bad location for all singers ...I love the location of the switch down low and out of the way ...Pheynx , don't mess with the switch location ..If it's not broke , don't fix it ...
Perhaps instead, they should offer microphones with choice of positions. I see the pros and cons of both setups. Choice dependent on how it is being used. Karaoke, I can see having it out of the way. But for most presentations and singers they will know how to handle the mic.
hey cleveland... i am in a small four piece band... we play small venues and nightclubs... we have have had shure and senheiser and were not happy with them... will these outperform the higher end models? we have already ordered this system... we also want to order the heaset and lapel mics are they available?
Great review, sir! I am considering of getting the PTU 7000 for a karaoke setup. Would this be a good option? and connect it to a Harbinger PA speaker? Thanks
I have a duel mic system from innopow. It has the same features as the upgraded model you are displaying. The are great mics. I think these are China made from the same manufacturer just rebranded.
@@ClevelandTerry Ok good. Looking to change our mics. What do you think of mics that allow people to turn selves off and on in a church type of setting It kinda stresses me out on the board. I guess ill have to train persons to always leave it on.
Dude those people don’t even have a phone number for customers service i am trying to get in contact with them to purchase some products for i dont know how to get I touch with them

I do not recommend phenyx pro anymore, their products are super cheap, I got the ptu-71 , the dual handheld , 2 antennas already broke, one receiver went out, and on the handheld the little plastic cover that is on top of the lcd display got pushed in. Cheap. So I went and spent 700 bucks on a SHURE SLX-D and it was the best purchase ever, expensive well built mic, never again I’ll buy these cheap Chinese mics. Also, for karaoke they sound okay ish, for professional singers it’s garbage. Put some headphones on and listen to yourself with these mics, they got a lot of distortion, prob don’t come out as bad on a PA, but home sound systems and in ear monitors, you will hear it all the time, I couldn’t do it. Don’t buy any phenyx mics. All garbage
