Very cool story. I love the person that Phil actually is. He wasn’t himself when he was on dope. Phil has a tough-as-nails exterior, a soft & fuzzy soul, and a huge heart. I know this interview is many years old at this point, but if you watch some of the Metal Hammer interviews recently during quarantine, he’s still the same cool, music loving dude. He has fucked up in the past, but who hasn’t? The only difference is the fact that the cameras are always on him. Nobody can be expected to be 100% perfect even 50% of the time. Dude has my respect tenfold, and I can’t wait for Rex to get better so the Pantera Tribute Tour can continue! Metallica is on the bill for a few shows, should be fucking epic!
