Phil Collins didn't need to go that hard on the tarazan soundtrack but he did....he did it for us Edit: just found out phil sang these songs in different languages makes this even better
I love the soundtrack of Tarzan, also like Phil Collins, but I have to agree that this soundtrack is very different from other Disney Renaissance movies in that the characters don't sing the songs themselves which it does create a disconnect with the scene and all, really that is my only complaint with the film
@@clockwerk35 wow, I never saw it that way. I think the characters not singing relies on the visuals/animators more to tell the story freely without the character narrating the musical experience. It was nice to just watch the characters and hear the lyrics fit their actions. Not to say I don’t like musicals or Disney characters singing- one just comes off as more musical/broadway than the other.
This song should be an anthem for cultural enlightment, sharing knowledge across the globe. Drifting through the universe. How much are we worth without each other?
It totally should, but sadly I know that as this song spreads its beauty across the world, some SJW nut is gonna be whining that it is "cultural appropriation" or some other made up reason to be offended and try to shut it down. It aint gonna work though, cause this song is timeless
In my childhood, the real impression that Phill Collins left on me, 25 years ago now, was with the soundtrack of the film Tarzan.... Of course I had listened to Genesis music, I even knew the chorus of some very random songs but nothing beyond just appreciating britpop music without frivolity but what Collins achieved with Tarzan, left more than a footprint on the millennial generation, you could recognise the freedom that Phil had when composing, singing and letting himself go with the creation of each piece, leaving a little bit of himself in some personal melodies. Now that time is unforgiving, Phill Collins turns 73, the memory is not the same for the Lieutenant of the Royal Victorian Order who said goodbye to the stage in March 2022, perhaps in part because this world keeps him inert but the music, his true scene, remains. Happy Birthday Philip David Charles Collins...
i literally cried the first second i heard this song....Phil Collins best voice ever i just want to drive my car full speed full volume and no fucks given just sweet sweet nostalgia :) also every time i see the fight (tarzan vs sabor) i just feel super intense and get a nostalgic boner
Songwriter: PHIL COLLINS Whatever you do I'll do it too Show me everything And tell me how You know me something And yet nothing to me I can see there is too much to learn It's all so close And yet so far I see myself As people see me But I just know there's something bigger out there I want to know, can you show me I want to know about the strangers like me Tell me more, please show me Something's familiar About the strangers like me Every gesture Every move that she makes Makes me feel like never before Why do I have this growing need to be beside her There are some emotions that I never knew Some for the world far beyond this place Beyond the trees, above the clouds I see before me a new horizon I want to know, can you show me? I want to know about the strangers like me Tell me more, please show me Something is familiar About the strangers like me Come with me now To see my world Where there's beauty beyond your dreams Can you feel the things I feel right now with you Take my hand There's a world I need to know I want to know, can you show me? I want to know about the strangers like me Tell me more, please show me Something is familiar About the strangers like me I want to know
Know this sounds weird for a kid's movie song, but after recently going thru a bad breakup, I hope to find someone someday that I can play this song for because they're my soulmate who accepts me just as I am, a "Stranger like me". I hope to meet them someday
Crazy how many years have gone by since i first heard this song. Im 30 today. I watched this movie when it first came out and a thousand times after. Such nostalgia.
There is no song from any other Disney movie that elicits such an intensely emotional reaction from me like this one does. That's how I feel about this movie as a whole, but THIS SONG in particular is just... wow. 😭 It's about the ~yearning~ and the ~self-discovery~ and the way the music goes all soft at the 1:55 mark... ugh!!! Legendary!
I honestly think this is great that this is my 2000 like milestone on RU-vid like honestly with the shit that's been going on in my life this song hit a hell of a lot different than anything I've ever felt my entire life so it was like coming back to this literally I thought deserve to like and literally having it hit the 2000 marthat really probably means something
This is my mom’s favorite song….I’m sobbing right now. My favorite is “Son of Man” but this one is more special because as a kid mom sang along to this and I love her so much…
Written by the Legendary Phil Collins in such an iconic film and soundtrack in my childhood, that applies to me deeply, in all honesty. Real relatable, as I was always like a stranger because when I had moved to an entirely different place I didn't have many friends and was always the odd one out with my twin brother, but as time went on, I found many others like me and created many bonds. A track that I'll never forget, and one that will always be in my heart deeply. Thanks Phil, Always my icon, and again glad there's so many people that still listen to this underrated track these days. An unforgettable lyric, that I'll always remember; "Come with me now, to see my world, Where there's beauty beyond your dreams, Can you feel the things I feel, Right now, with you? Take my hand, There's a world I need to know" Legendary!
Hands down this was my favorite Disney movie soundtrack!!! I still remember watching the making of it on the Disney Special right before the movie was released!
If I had a nickel for how many times I listened to this song as a kid and sung along to the tune. I probably would’ve been rich on nothing but nickels.
my Cats been in the animal urgent care for 2 days, n ive been jammin this, the vet called today n said shes gonna be okay n she can come home tomorrow .
The best song ever!!! Grateful for a dude who people have nicknamed Tarzan at my shelter, or I wouldn't have gotten this awesome melody popping in my head! :))) ❤
