Sad. But his voice still beautiful even after they broke his vocal chords. Drunk for sure but still he was trying. This is brilliant. I never knew he played piano. I have covered his songs for years. I can see now how he write his songs,... looking for that note. Many conspiracy stiries abound as to his suucide . Once your vision of who you see yourself becoming ,gets obscured by society's demands upon you
Sad what happened to Phil. Had tickets to see him at the Main Point in Bryn Mawr, PA in April, '76 but he had hanged himself just before that. He was only 35.
