Guys have you seen the replies to my post from the guy @Loit5091, really all I did say was how much I enjoyed the gig, one of the best I had attended, then a barrage of very hostile comments on Sayce, he clearly does not share our opinion of him and thinks he is a clone and then gets very personal, is this guy for real?

@@Ram-by2gz that’s a ridiculous thing to say. I’m not trying to be mean to you, like you are trying to be mean, but you obviously don’t play guitar, so you wouldn’t understand. Yes, he’s very close to those guitar players. So much so that at first I was a bit perturbed because he sounded like he was trying to sound exactly like Stevie. So for you to say he’s not even close is ridiculous. And at 1:47, he’s definitely channeling Jimmi.
@@davidbrucemusicvideo @davidbrucemusicvideo what you just wrote is so ridiculous. First off I'm not trying to mean. I'm just making an observation which I know I'm qualified to make after hearing this guy play. You have no idea who I am and to actually say I don't play guitar also mean you are a psychic which you're not. You have to put in with your two cents about how great this guy is and how he channels Jimi and whatever the nonsense you said . I'm not surprised the people like u I run into on the internet in these comments section. I'm so wasting my time having to even responded to you because it's such a dead end.

Especially because it doesn’t have a Floyd Rose, or locking nut at the top of the neck. Looks like the original standard issue hardware, and no modifications on it. SRV said that model Strat was a bit harder to play compared to other well known brands, and both he & Hendrix were a bit rough on them, and attacked their guitars with their style of playing. Plenty of Hendrix live performances where he would have to tune them up a few times throughout his sets. Maybe this guy isn’t as rough as they were, with less instances of having to tune between songs. I definitely enjoyed this video, and gotta hear some more of his stuff.🎸

I have been to thousands of gigs over the years (I am 70) and I thought Sayce's gig in Glasgow was one of the best if not the best gig I have ever attended.
@@Moo-Mee-Boo lol u can tell what the audio was like based off a guy filming from the crowd then uploading to yt? Sure bro. You DEFINITELY know what ur talking about.
He sent it out and the audience received it and sent it back...that is the exchange that blues rock is all about. I appreciate that he has dedicated his life to developing his talent as far as he can take it and now he can share it with others, that takes guts and a certain type of person who won't give up or stop trying...inspiring. And he never misses a note so I think he's dialed into the sweet spot now and taking it on the road....hats off.
I can't remember exactly when but it was probably more than 20 years ago i was walking downtown in Guelph Ontario Canada when i walked past a club with live music. As i stood outside listening i was impressed. I had to go inside and find out who was playing. It was Philip Sayce . I watched the rest of the show and was blown away. I recall he mentioned some issues with his record company at that time. Thanks to u tube i can experience his talent again.
I had a similar experience walking in downtown Omaha and hearing some great blue coming from a basement bar . This was in the mid 90’s and it turned out to be Popa Chubby .
I'd like to catch him live,I know I'd love it...I've seen some of the greatest live,Johnny Winter twice/Buddy Guy/TAB Benoit/Warren Haynes/Derek Trucks/Ricky Medlock/Gary Rossington and most recently Albert Cummings...I'd love to add Sayce to my collection of memories
Yup… my first hero in the late 60’s was Johnny Winter, seen him 3 or 4 times over the years. Caught Robin Trower in a small Montreal club (Club Soda) the comments about the Trower, SRV, Hendrix vibes are spot on… the guy’s good no question!
I wonder if this dude ever listened to Hendrix or Stevie Ray Vaughan? 😂 Great job of incorporating your influences into your own style. Very nice job. Excellent player who plays with a lot of feel 🎸👍☮️👌
This guy needs better PR or something because I’m no youngster and have been listening to music for quite some time without ever hearing anything about this dude. He is without a doubt a talented guitarist with a great sound. How can someone like this be around for this long and not a household name?
Saw him a few years ago in Germany . Great playing, good singing. In my view sometimes it seemed, as if the guitar playing was a language, "speaking", i can't describe it better. Only seen that before when i saw Bugs Henderson and Mick Moody.
Near Bremen, he played in a club in Bremen called "Meisenfrei". "Call of the wild ( Live at the Meisenfrei)" , a double live-CD( Taxim Records) has been recorded from that gig.
There’s honestly nothing this guy offers that I can’t get a far better version of from you-know-who. I don’t even have to say his name because we’re all thinking it.
Too many clones, there's a serious lack of originality that's making the scene kind of uninteresting. It was fun for a while when KWS et al were doing their thing, but now we seem to have descended to the level of a las Vegas basement meeting where 200 guys are dressed as Elvis.
Seldom does a guitar player seduce me and draw me into his or her world. This Cat did just that. Never heard of him until he suddenly appeared on RU-vid. Magic Man, Magic.
He plays guitar exactly like myself!! I’m totally amazed!! He’s an astonishing earthling!! He’s from my dimension from the farthest reaches of the outer Milky Way!!👽
He's got a an amazing voice and he's got great guitar skills but the rig arrangement or perhaps the overall sound system is not adequate. I can't imagine it's the venue. Without question ... he's better than this recording renders him.
That's funny. You got a giggle out of me. The guy who names himself "Savage" is commanding other people to "cam down". Have you no friends to bring your attention to the extreme irony in your communication skills. Perhaps they're afraid to say something, scared they might provoke a savage response and be unable to calm you down. *Grin* Thanks for brightening my day.@@TheSavagederek
Hi Troy. Savage is in really bad shape if he has only one friend (willing to embarrass himself) who appears to be high out of his mind when trying to defend him. You also, Troy, got a giggle out of me by claiming "no one understands what ur saying". What makes it so funny is that your words reveal to everyone that you know exactly what I'm saying and yet suggesting everyone else is not very smart because they don't know. Claiming "wtf u talking about", and then offering your explanation, indicates you should get a friend who is not high (if you have one) to read your responses before you publish them. Otherwise, you leave everyone stealing your words and saying :"wtf u talking about?" Troy.@@tomtroy12
It's really bizarre, there are so many SRV clones now that it seems kind of sad. Especially when they dress like him and start pulling the same facial expressions. It's really weird
@@FramrodLiggins Obvi, music is subjective. SRV and Robert Cray, took those influences and made their own unique radio friendly hits. Peter's incredible playing offers nothing new & unique to him. Like you can easily tell the diff b/t Hndrix & SRV & Robin Trower.... that's the diff. opinion only...
@@FramrodLiggins Yep SRV has launched thousands of players, and yet I can only think of 1 has made a real name for himself... John Mayer... and how much does he "really" sound like SRV? IMHO Not much. Yes, licks and some chord voicings, but he took that inspiration to his own unique destination. I'm in a "avg" cover band myself, I LOVE it, but I'm not out there trying to be EVH or Jimmy.
