As of the 16th of January, I came back to the UK on RP-C7777 (I was seated on 44K and had its registration printed on its right wing), it had the same cabin as this one shown in this video but, the flight map loads up slightly faster and the IFE does respond quicker if you touch it with your nail tips rather then your finger, as for takeoff and landing, it was quite a breathtaking one as the Captain used full thrust (I really love the GE90’s when it was a full thrust :-) ) and the climb rate was really fast, it was a busy approach to Heathrow, even saw a lot of strobe/landing lights from other arriving/departing aircrafts above the city of London.
Awesome review! Finally a review onboard PAL's Boeing 777-300ER! The B77W is no doubt a great aircraft to fly on! Especially when hearing the GE90 engines roar! So glad that PAL had refurbished their A330s with IFEs! Hope to fly with them one day! :)
I heard about CX’s inflight service regarding the Manila-Hong Kong route; boxed sandwich lang offer nila. PAL nalang nagseserve daw ng meals which is still better than sandwiches given by CX na bitin kainin.
Mitch Young oh, so I’m not the only one to notice about it! It’s just too bad I expected a lot from CX. If this is the case, PAL has excelled in this department.
Happy New Year, Jayson! Madalas naman may dumadating na A380 sa Manila dahil sa Lufthansa Technik, dun pumupunta ibang A380’s for service and repairs, hehe! Tnx tnx for watching! 😊
Lots of empty seats. PAL should utilize a smaller wide body plane like the A330 (even the A350) or even the A321 for this short flight. Looks economically inefficient for a powerful and spacious jet like the 777-300ER for this route.
PAL is utilizing smaller planes for this kind of route. Sometimes, they're using 777, and A350 for medium haul flights (even domestic) to maximize the utilization of aircraft, which more efficient, and ideal. Also, it depends on the disruptions of aircrafts during the day.
I rarely fly to Hong Kong; about once a year but just this 2017 I had to take 6 stops there. R/T tickets cost about $160 depending on the season of travel.
Hehe! Sayang nga e, pero maybe next time mafeature ko na yung bagong B777 ng PAL; maganda seats and better ang IFE’s sa bagong aircraft. Tnx tnx for watching! 😄
Hello Kuya Mitch. Pa advice naman po kung okay lang ba na mag book akong ticket MNL-HKG-MNL.. For example, Flight ko papunta don is at dawn and then yung pabalik ko is midnight..(same day). I'll just stay there for few hours... Is it possible? What docx do I need? Haha... I just want to touch down in hongkong atleast hahaha i don't know.... wahahah... okay ba yun? i don't know if you understand what i mean hahaha
U mean pupunta ka lang ng HKG para kumain or may bibilhin then uwi na after, within the day? Yup, pwede naman. May mga businessmen pupunta ng HKG from Manila para mag meeting lang sa umaga then uwi sa hapon/gabi. I also know people na magdedeliver lang or mag uuwi ng goods to/from HKG then uwi the same day. Some celebrities would go there to eat lang or go on a day tour or shopping then uwi. When u get to HKG, di na nila tinatatakan yung passport. Binibigyan ka lang ng stub. Anyhow, the earliest flight out of Manila for PAL is PR300 which leaves around 7:55am and arrives in HKG at around 10am. Tapos u can book a return flight sa gabi. Not sure about other airlines’ schedules if they have earlier flights than that. Need mo lang passport (at least not expiring in 6 months, tsaka return ticket). 😊
Wala naman visa to HKG for Philippine passport holders. P10K is ok for a day trip, though mas makakakilos ka if u bring more than that tsaka para may pang emergency. Medyo pricey ang food and stuff doon. Malayo din airport sa city. You either need to take the bus or train (you will also need an octopus card as they dont accept cash sa bus). Best that u go with a travel buddy, wag lang mag isa, para may kasama ka sa ikot mo doon.
Alin, yung manipis na blue? Nako oo! If they’re aiming to be a 4 or 5 star airline dapat pati yung maliliit na bagay palitan. Yung handsoap nga na dilaw amoy dishwashing liquid or parang lumang glycerin (mas mabango pa nga ata ang Joy). Maganda pa dati yung blue na cologne nila na ngayon wala na. ☹️
hahahaha uu sir. nung first time ko mag business class sa pal for doha to manila nagulat ako sa nipis ng blanket. malayo sa emirates at QA. pero in termsa of service ng FA maganda ang PAL.
Marami pa kelangan iimprove ang PAL. Pero despite those, yung pakitungo nila sa passengers ang binabalik balikan ko since di ko mafeel at home sa ibang airline- yung hospitality nila. If only gumanda pa amenities ng PAL on top of their inflight service, baka panalo na! 😁
Correct sir. ako rin I feel at home with PAL. Hopefully tuloy tuloy na improvement ng mga amenities. super layo pa para maging 5 star sila pero slowly mararating din.
Turns out that they will refurbish the 6 777s cabins this year starting in June, as well as the rest of the a330s. and the new A321neo will have IFE but only on 6
my flight to los angeles way back summer of '14 utilized this type of B777-300 ER. Back then, brand new pa sya at kka retire lang ng 747. It was great that they have the newer ones na flying long haul
Mitch Young yes Kuya Mitch!
Mas maganda pa ibang airline, kaya don kami sumasakay 😏
I talked to one of the crew members on board my recent flight with PAL. Sa flight operations daw yung concern why they dont deploy their tri-class aircraft sa Mid East flights. Maski ako rin gusto ko magandang planes ipadala sa Mid East routes pero I’m just as puzzled bakit hindi pa maayos ng PAL. But anyhow, thank you Leonardo for watching my travel blog! 😊
