From paradise to paradise. What a long day. There is nothing like leaving in the evening and arriving the morning of the same day! My trip on PR100 from Manila to Honolulu. What will Hawaii bring?
Hi Tim! Thank you for choosing to fly with us. We're delighted to hear that you had a pleasant flight and that one of our flight attendants assisted you in securing a better seat. Your feedback is valuable, and we'll make sure it reaches the team involved for their recognition. We appreciate your support and look forward to welcoming you on board again soon! ✈❤
I spent 2 weeks on Maui a few years back, beautiful island with some lovely beaches and hilltop views. I was very lucky with an Airbnb, accommodation is very expensive so AirBnb was a good option, I mostly stayed in a cabin in the garden of a large house, I befriended the owner and he gave me one of his cars free of charge to use during my stay and free use of the kitchen and very large living room and backyard of his house. The location was in the middle of a forest and such an amazing location 😊
I just don't get it, been following along and if money or job is the issue why land on two location that have the highest cost of living (CA & HI). Very confused on the whole last 6 months of videos.
Was just there 2 weeks ago. No doubt beautiful and pleasant. However, housing is super high. Houses start around 1 million and condos start around $300k. Condos also have a $1500-$3000 HOV fee. Milk was $8 gallon and eggs were about the same for 12 eggs. We go there a couple times per year. Great place to visit, but not to live.
Born and raised in Hawaii. After graduating from high school, my parents decided to move back to the Philippines after my dad retired. Like you, Hawaii is a special place and will always be home, and not even the Philippines is as special as Hawaii. I try to go home twice a year as my sister's and the rest of my Ohana's lives there and other parts of the Hawaiian Islands. Welcome back and enjoy your stay. Aloha 🤙🏽
I hope you have money if you want to live in Honolulu. You’ll need a million minimum to buy anything. Hilo could be affordable. Lots are inexpensive outside the city and you could attempt to build. With the fire getting contractors could be a problem. With that being said I would give anything to live there.
Yoooo Tim, It's IAN CROUSE from the other yt channel. I'm finally getting my original food channel up and going. I hope to be in the PI within a year. See you and regular guy soon.
You should check out Saipan, much cheaper and 5 hour flight from Manila. It is a US territory too, can get a house to rent for $1000, same would be 4-5000 in Hawaii. peace.
You guys should come to Kauai it’s mellow!!! Hawaii is very expensive as we all know but only you can make the best of it live simple be happy…. All Hawaiian island is beautiful❤
I’ve had quite a few trips to HI. The Big Island, Maui a few times, Oahu numerous times, Kauai serval times, Maui and Lanai. You can get a little stir crazy after a while
Good luck....sooooo expensive....son lives in Kuliouou Valley and works on Schofield....he is a born and raised sandy beach boy....soooo expensive and that has priced me out of retirement there...enjoy
Hi Tim on a long flight to anywhere and the safest place in a commercial airline in two rows in the back of the airplane. I worked as a R&E at united airlines and flew first class free but still in the back of the aircraft the bathrooms are right there and when the flight attendants move food carts forward up the aisle you can get up and walk around the back of the plane stretch your legs so much better on a long flight. Good luck Tim, I like your positivity bro
Born and raised there for the past 56 years. Until last year 2022 when I retired and moved to the Philippines. Enjoy. By the way was that Koko Marina in Hawaii Kai. Video Haunama Bay. Philippine people would love it.
Aloha Tim. Welcome to the beautiful island of Oahu. Born and raised here. Quite an expensive place to live but it’s the price you pay for living Aloha. I would highly recommend you visit Ko’Olina Beach. A must when you visit the island. Another recommendation is to stop by Liliha Bakery for so good eats. Btw, I have never left a comment on anyone’s channel. Since you’re here on Oahu, I felt the need to greet you with a warm Aloha. Stay safe
I think it’s better to be outside the Philippines. They can detain you and prevent you from leaving. Even if you are 100% innocent, it can take months and years for your case to be heard.
I stayed there in Waikiki Sheraton kaiulani 2005 for a while. Enjoyed there travelled around the island. Surfers place in north shore was off course mainly for private but a wonderful place.
I took my r & r there. I stayed at the Outrigger and partied at Davy Jones Locker. haha. That was about Oct/Nov 1970 for one week vacation from Vietnam. I was 19 years old. Fond memories. I also recall a shopping mall with the name taking up 15 or 20 letters of the alphabet, but I've forgotten the name.
I grew up in Hawaii and lived there until I left in 2013. Maui is my home still, but I can't afford to live there anymore. I am happy in Virginia now. I have watched all the expat videos of living in the Philippines. While the cost of living is attractive, I have the feeling that just as in Hawaii, the good old days may be ending. Looking forward to seeing where you decide to end up at. I really can't imagine you being able to afford Maui or even Hawaii overall, although, nurses are in demand, although probably underpaid. Good luck!
CV-64 used to pull into Pearl Harbor from Home Port NAS N.island Enroute to PersianGulf during Tehran US Embassy Hostage Crisis. Loved Honolulu, Waikiki, DiamondHead, Pearl city, etc. Took 3-Days Leave & flew to Maui & stayed on the Kahalui side. Back then i was surprised how Quiet & much less expensive Maui was. No Overcrowded overpriced packed with tourists like much of Ouahu. My Ex-wife grew up in Waipahu, Ouahu & many of her relatives from several other islands said that Times have changed since then on Maui too. Many Great memories my 4 times there. Especially the warm rain...😊
Hawaii also holds a lot of good memories for me being a cruise ship crew that does the Hawaiian Islands cruises Honolulu is our home port as our ship was not a US flag we have to visit the Kiribati isle as required to be on a foreign port on the course of a week-long cruise miss the places and the vibes, so sad about the fire that devastated Lahaina and the horror stories that happened during the fires. Anyways its such a nice place to raise a family Tim rather than the mainland US.
Tim your fans and I am certainly one of them is very happy for you. I think you should do more of these update videos Brit help with the revenue coming in ( under 10 minutes) maybe go to a Ron Jon surf shop or one your friend recommends.
Maui is one of my favourite places! Been several times and absolutely love it there but it has gotten insanely expensive now. I stick to the Caribbean now for warm destinations. Cheers Tim
I was living in Honolulu from 2006 - 2020. Prices are still going up. Food prices are ridiculous. Not a great idea taking a beautiful Filipina to the US where she has options besides you.
How did you like the flight Tim? By the way there are others in the Hawaiian Filipino Community would rather try flying the Japanese JAL ANA and South Korean Korean Air. The same carriers also fly to New York City JFK in competition with Philippine Airlines. For North America flights these are PR100-199. The flagship route is New York City PR126/127
That Liquor ban only applies to Filipinos. Its in the exemption details. If you hold a foreign passport and that establishment got prior approval for tourist sales, then you can buy those beers in the airport (thats why they are still on the shelf). All the hotel bars in Manila are still serving alcohol to tourists legally during the ban. I ordered some on Lazada and I just had to prove my country of origin and it was delivered to my door. Some places such as Alphamart refuse to sell to Foreigners but that is their own corporate decision.
Hey, nice travel vlog! I plan on checking out Hawaii myself. Question.....what day was it when you took off from Manila and what day was it when you landed in Honolulu? The Philippines is apparently 1 day ahead of the US, that's why I ask. Thanks!
Hey Tim, If/when you bring Chrissy and Dale back to Newport Beach, I would love to meet you guys for a Starbucks and buy Dale an Ice Cream cone by the Newport pier.
We were just in Honolulu 2 days ago. Went to vacation with friends from Philippines. Been there many times. It’s super expensive. Bottle water 632 pesos or 6.00. Our breakfast cost 75.00 or 4,200 pesos. Unless you are rich it’s gonna be tough living there. Very very small apartment runs $1,500.00. And that’s a old one. Be better to go to mainland. Downside to some cheaper state to live.
Spent 28 years in Hawaii, drove truck, flew airplanes in Hawaii, sunk my private airplane in the ocean 110 miles SW of Honolulu, Oct 21, 1973, luck to still be around, in the PI now.....
It's been a very long time since I have been to Hawaii. I thought that you wanted to stay in the Philippines. I'm not sure if I had a favorite time or place but visiting Pearl Harbor is something that everyone should do when they're in Oahu.
I know Hawaii is expensive, but i think krissy would like living there more than in the mainland , because of the warmer weather, and all of the Filipinos who live there.
The absolute master of travel vloggers, thank you Tim for the inspiration to create Drew's Travels, documenting rural life on the island of Leyte, Philippines 🇵🇭
I enjoyed hiking the kalalau trail along the Napali coast in Kauai. It was a great adventure and have some memorable experiences there. I understand you have to make reservations to hike it now.
Hawaii Kai? I lived in Portlock, not far, fortunately I live in Phuket now and happy to report the Aloha Spirit is here and alive. I enjoy your channel! Mahalos Brah!
