I think Philippines should get a head coach who has experience in handling nba/international level of players. Maybe like Alapag or try to naturalized Spoelstra?? Hahaha if that is even possible. Anyways, it is ok if all the players are all Filipino but they need to change their style of playing. For years, the world has seen that Philippine style of basketball is not cut out internationally. It is always the "we were almost there, we almost beat them , it is a learning experience." We will never ever compete in the Olympics if we can't change the way we play and the mindset of our staff. We already have players who have experienced being coached by international coaches like Abando, Sotto, Ravena and Ramos and others. Sadly, they are not utilize to their full extent because of the play style we have here in the Philippines. Just my opinion LOL

wala talagang playmaking ang Gilas e, buti dati meron si Castro Alapag Tenorio. Ngayon medyo hilaw kahit dribbling hirap. Shooters din inconsistent, dati may Jeff Chan and Ranidel.

We will never reach the 2nd round, quarterfinal if fiba do not allow 2 naturalized players. China, inspite having many seven footers is having an american NBA players but still lost all their games. Having another Kai in the future is too rare to happen. Why not the FIBA revived the basketball with there was an experimental height limit of six feet for all players of the team. This happened in 70's, when the tournament took place in Spain? I am not sure if the Philippines was the only country in Asia that participated. The Philippines were represented by Danny Florencio, Jun Papa, Jaworski, etc and got bronze, Spain had silver and the eventual champion USA got the gold. So, there were two groups in basketball. Group A Team players with no height limit Group B Team players with height limit of six feet The Philippines according to studies when it come to average height, both for men and women is the smallest people in Asia.

Its FINE as log as Philippines always made it to the world cup, most of the time they will lose, I will still watch their games

I’m not the best player as I play pickup and my IQ isn’t the best, but even then, I wouldn’t literally try to help and leave me man in the corner there late in the game like Pogoy did. Maybe they were worried if Kai doubled he leave his man open for an open lane, but they should’ve trusted Kai to be able to react and contest that fit or open lane. Even then it just not necessary to say and help like that. Even if that guy made a three but Pogoy didn’t over commit it would’ve been been better than what he did. It’s just plain bad execution and just bad decision you shouldn’t do in that stage of a game.
