As it looks to me. You provide for her whole family in the village. 50 kg of rice, and bags of vegetables, fish and chicken at the weekends. If they can't support themselves in the village. Maybe it's better that you put everyone in the house next door. That way you would at least save money on the trips back and forth to the village. Plus you would get content for two or three videos a day.

husband speaking age 81.8 Of course at my age I can't eat much today, but when when our last maid had her husband with here for a few months. The amount of rice he would put on his plate was more than I could eat in a week. We would go through 50lbs in a month for two old folks and two maids.Rice is their life. Unfortunately too much rice and pork fat will kill you to.
It is myself and my Lady, plus 4 grown girls and our small daughter of 4 yrs next month. We go through 3 of those bags every month and our dogs also eat from that once a day😮

Just going to Albertson's. $10 for already made Sweet tea and small container of pineapples. Used to be $1.25 sweet tea, $3.00 pineapples. Its exspensive everywhere.
Those are high numbers, but I only feed my house of 6. We go through about 30 kilos a month, but not everyone here eats rice daily. The filipinos swear left over rice causes high blood pressure so the 3 dogs get the left overs.
Additional comment: I checked with my Filipina wife on rice consumption. She agree about 50 kg per month is correct. So that is 600 kg per year, and that does not allow for visitors at fiesta time. It’s a lot of rice! King I’ll be interested in a vegetable audit as well. Take care brother!

Food in the Philippines is a must here in the states food isn’t everybodies all diabetic and have heart disease etc so now here in states time to change your food lifestyle here you have go out for a run or go the gym so you can get in shape and sweat in the Philippines you’ll sweat right after you took a shower 😊

They don't use TP in the Philippines. They use a bucket of water and a bar of soap and as far as electric goes he talks about average use in some of his other videos.
Correct on food prices. I can get bananas here in Phoenix AZ about the same price or cheaper than a grocery store in PH. True for eggs, green cabbage, sardines and I assume other items.
Housing is cheap in the Philippines. Food not so much. Much of it has to be imported. One thing they have that I've never seen in the States is banana ketchup. It's good. Also they sometimes put cucumber slices on burgers instead of pickles.

That is not true. Yes I agree the inflation is bad but not as bad as in the US. The difference is Filipino people don't get proper pay rates or even fair pay. I live there 2 months a year and I would still do financially better in the Philippines then I do in the states. Everything is relative.
@@andyh5822 You live 2 months a year? I lived in the Philippines for 8 years. I'm currently here visiting and I can see the difference in prices from 2 years ago when I left. And Filipinos not getting proper pay is exactly why inflation is much worst here than in the U.S.

Marcos, I am going to barrow a line from the movie Jaws and say, "You're gonna need a bigger boat". That's a lot of rice, but as you stated so many times before, rice is a staple in the filipina diet. $50 bucks a month for rice to feed 10 is not bad, even if it was $50 every two weeks that’s still not bad because that’s all they eat breakfast lunch and dinner..I don’t mind sharing with my family/loved one’s if I’m the provider the least I can do is provide the rice or give my girl an allowance so she can buy her family their own rice. That way nobody will fight over some petty rice
Smart to take into account the Hawthorne Effect that when people are watched they behave differently when no one is watching. I think one thing that may make people more generous is when they know they have "excess", your stash. Now that people know what, people may think, "well if we run out, we can always dip into the stash again". As a prepper, you can't really let people know what you have because they think it is extra and don't even consider you have plans for it. Would be interesting if no one knew you had replenished your stash and you made the women buy the rice with a budget how free they would give away the "excess". Especially if they ran out then they would have to come up with the money or haul it. Interesting thought experiment, and good planning.
