I find it safer in the Philippines

I noticed foreign travel vloggers mostly start in the Philippines and become successful. More views and subscribers. Probably because of the people. Not only it's easier to communicate with them, Filipinos are the best fans in the world and they love tourists. They see tourists as guests, friends not just customers. The islands, beautiful places to go which you will never ran out matches them. That's why most vloggers come back to the Philippines. I disagree with you saying that Philippines is worth a week or two to travel. That's their initial plan but they end up staying more than a month and the others extend their visa to stay longer. Indonesia is very good country as well but I just noticed these points.

I'm so amazed with your detailed description of the places you visited both in Indonesia and the Philippines, citing the pros and cons (haves and have nots) in every area. Every tourist gets the idea which country is better to travel though its hard to compare.

I lived 7 years in the Philippines 5 at Clark Air Base USAF and after I retired, I lived in Baguio where my wife is from. We both visit Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Taiwan, and Hong Kong but we always go back to the Philippines as we own two houses there. Now we are in the USA Corpus Christi Texas due to her job as a nurse practitioner.

I am a Filipino who visits Indonesia a lot. (Not Just Bali but alsoJakarta, Bogor, Bandung and others). Based on my observation.. Bali offers world class resorts at a reasonable price. I've seen so much resorts that are instagramable. There are only few nice resorts in the Philippines and most of the really nice are very expensive. But when it comes to the Beach, my country, The Philippines is far better. You can find a lot of beaches that are similar to Maldives. Turquoise water with white sand powder beach. Which can ve reached through island hopping. As one person commented "Bali for relaxation, Philippines for Adventure". When it comes to food, I enjoy Indonesian food than food in my Country. Lol. They have really flavorful dishes and delicious dessert like Martabak Manis. And street food are cheaper with a better quality and quantity. When it comes to people, I can say that Indonesians are kinder than Filipinos. I noticed how polite they are especially from Cashier to Sales lady. Unlike in my country, most cashier or sales person frown. The only downside with Indonesians is the language. A lot of them cannot speak/understand English.. While almost all people from the Philippines speaks/understand English. Even the street vendor or the street sweeper. I prefer Indonesia personally because I am someone who prefers relaxation over adventure. I even enrolled in a Bahasa Indonesia course just to be able to speak basic Bahasa Indonesia. 😸

Love both countries, along with Vietnam, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia and of course, Thailand. I have been living on and off in this region for three years now and I still can't decide! Except that SE Asia is one of my favourite regions in the world.

Siargao was badly hit by a category 5 typhoon last Dec 2021. Those palm tree roads are no longer there, it would take some years before nature can recuperate. So if you plan to visit the Philippines enjoy our other islands.

Great video. Well, The east part of Indonesia have insane beaches, Komodo and Flores are amazing, have amazing blue beaches but I agree that Filippines is insane, everywhere. Do not forget to visit North Thailand, natureeee!!!. Chiang Mai is a good place for digital nomads, a good place for a base. I was living there four months before Covid and it is great. I've been to both and i think indonesian infrastructure more develop and the place more cleaner, have more public transportation, and the people food is freaking osm, have soo many destiation too, and indonesia not just have only beach, there's a lot of temples, and jakarta is more modern, the forest, the island is more develop, but when i driving around big city in ph there's still a lot of slum place, i think indo win, greating from brazil

I believe that Philippines have the best beaches and island in the world but , a lot of people just compare Philippines with indonesia just java and bali only.... Indonesia is beyond than that two islands... If you wanna compare Philippines n Indonesia u should compare with Eastern Indonesia (raja ampat, komodo, padar sumba maluku derawan weikuri bair ) so it will fair comparation.... In my opinion Philippines have most amazing beaches but Indonesia have more diversity... But both country is amazing....

we've visited both but I don't think I could pick a winner, they're both amazing places in their own right. But I would say Philippines = Adventure and Bail = Relaxation, however this is probably just my opinion because I had two very different trips in each place.

I would add that while both locals are warm and hospitable, I connected more with the locals in the Philippines and had deep conversations where I learned about their resilience and admire them for it. I just visited the Philippines and am now in Indonesia, really using my time here to edit and upload my vlogs because, like you said, the internet and digital nomad community is a lot better in Bali. 12:10 I think this is very true in many ways. Although, there are A LOT of expatriates in Metro Manila, and in the Philippines in general. This is definitely because the Philippines is an English-speaking country. All of the country's road signs and laws are written in English, so communication is much easier with international visitors and residents than most anywhere else in Asia. That said, there is no centrally located expat/international community that I know of. They're all spread out through the cities. 😆

Why do I love Indonesia? You know, Mother Nature in this country is the mastermind behind major natural disasters that can hit many countries and cause many fatalities, not just 1 or 100 times, but more than that. I will provide that information. Imagine, in 1 city alone there are at least 100 tourist attractions (In 1 city). It's really crazy, no one knows Indonesia 100%. Because there are so many misunderstandings with tourist attractions in Indonesia. Even the sea in Indonesia has something like the Bermuda Triangle and natural attractions that make no sense. Because when we go to Indonesia the people are confused and have to make plans where we are going. When I was a teenager, at the high school level I always studied and read books about nature in a library located in Europe. I found a book that said "Tambora The Years Without Summer" then also found a book that said "Krakatoa". Both of these books tell about nature and its brutality at the same time. Not only that, in the book it is explained that the incident is located in 1 country but in different regions. Was it the only tragedy that was written by the International? No, there is a lot of history of major natural disasters in Indonesia that are written internationally. I have to be honest when talking about Indonesia, without many people realizing that nature in Indonesia is also very cruel, often raging, abnormal and brutal. as while Bali you should try travelling another island in Indonesia as Belitung (the rainbow earth) island in south sumatran, Raja Ampat, Lajuan Bajo it's really beautiful island with blue sea, clean water and beautiful spots under sea water for snorkelling you will get it all, common let's go to there and the places also instagrammable

This is a good comparison I have been to both Indonesia and Philippines twice. So here is what I think from my experiences: Philippines: I have been to El Nido in Palawan, Boracay and Manila. The advantage is that many are proficient in English where Indonesia can be a bit of struggle with language barrier but yes it is much more difficult to travel around Philippines and food-wise was a big issue for me. But I would still like to explore Cebu Island, Mindanao and Balabac Island in Southern Palawan. Manila was OK as a city, El Nido was amazing but it was far too touristy for my liking so if I was to pick a place to stay in the Philippines, it has to be Boracay. Indonesia: I have been to Jakarta, Bali, Lombok, Flores Island and Komodo Island. Now let me start off with Bali (I stayed in Ubud) - while I thought Ubud, some of the waterfalls on the island, the famous rice paddy garden, a few temples, parts of Denpasar and visiting Nusa Penida were amazing, it was far too touristy with too many motorcyclists, lots of pollution, the beaches weren't that great, problems with mass tourism so I didn't think Bali was that great. However, neighbouring Lombok was incredible and more beautiful so I would choose Lombok over Bali any day. I got the chance to stay on Flores Island and did the day trip to Komodo Islands from Labuan Bajo on Flores Island. Even though Jakarta have a few environmental problems, I think it is an amazing city and prefer it to Manila plus the beach walk on Ancol Beach is nice. I would still like to visit parts of Sumatra, Sulawesi, Surabaya city in Java and Raja Ampat Island. Food-wise, I would choose Indonesia because I'm a Muslim from the UK and they will have Halal food plus there are mosques everywhere but it was very difficult to find Halal food in the Philippines unless you go to the south like Palawan or Mindanao. So overall winner for me is Indonesia

Yes, even if the Philippines have a big population there are still some places undiscovered. So if you found one, definitely no wifi. But if you go to their town proper there's wifi for sure may not be as strong as the others. I think each Asian countries have different qualities and features to offer that makes Asia very fascinating and amazing for tourist😊😊😊

Nature in Indonesia very beautiful, unique, diverse but on the other hand also often kills. The shape of the Indonesian territory is elongated like a person sleeping on their back (Sumatra is the feet, Kalimantan is the stomach, Sulawesi is the chest, Maluku is the neck, Java Bali Nusa Tenggara is the back and Papua is the head). MOTHER NATURE IN INDONESIA : 10/10. I just talk about 100% MOTHER NATURE not MAN-MADE. Because man-made in the world is the same (America's, Europe, Africa's, Asia, Australia and Oceania) made to make life easier and Indonesia is not about human civilization, but about prehistory. So many senseless natural attractions happen there from West Indonesia to East Indonesia. I fell in love with QUEEN MOTHER NATURE in Indonesia since I first studied in 2010. She amazed me with her variety, beauty, uniqueness, weirdness and brutality. Do you know a song that fits with nature in Indonesia? Yes, that is WITHIN TEMPTATION - MOTHER EARTH and WARDRUNA - KVITRAVN. QUEEN MOTHER NATURE INDONESIA 10/10 (Second to none and one above all) If you know all the volcanoes, rivers, lakes, caves, waterfalls, beaches, mountains, rice fields, forests and others in Indonesia (Nature), the nature is very insane. For me personally, a visit to Indonesia is the most memorable for me because I have visited 51 natural tourist attractions. Maybe I will come back again in 2024 to visit 109 tourist attractions, I have to save first. In fact, I even dream that my country has natural attractions like in Indonesia. Yeah, I imagine that, in the middle of Europe there are 500 volcanoes, 7,000 more rivers, 5,000 more lakes, 15,000 more beaches, 2,700 more caves, 10,000 more waterfalls, 128 million hectares of forest and others just in one country. That's something really cool. Nature in Indonesia, you are in my heart. I can provide this much information because studying nature in Indonesia is not just a trip.

Philppines beach is no.1 of the word..

No need to compare, both countries have excellent nature, good people, wonderful beaches. I'm a Filipino, and I've been to Indonesia once. I'm amazed that their language sounds like ours, in particular, Kapampangans. I'd say go visit them both, again and again, and we both nationals travel each others country, to learn the culture, to know the people. After all, we're all one people, we just have different countries, different culture, almost the same linga franca.

With tourist visa on arrival, you can extend up to 36 months in the philippines. With the new VOA in indonesia you can only extend once for another 30 days, on no extension possible if under visa exemption.

If you want to visit best beaches in Indonesia ABSOLUTELY not in Bali. Lombok, Komodo National Park, and Raja Ampat could compete easily with beaches in Philippine or Thailand. Not to mention another beaches and marine national park in eastern Indonesia like in Sulawesi or Kei Island in Maluku.

Both countries beautiful. People in the Philippines have advantage in communicating with tourists for they are fluent in English. Both countries are rich in natural resources and nice place to be visited. Both rich in culture.
