Watching in 2023 for a black Friday offer, and by far she is the best explainer I have seen. Direct to the pros and cons, made a coffee everyone thinking to buy it would do in a day to day.
Thankyou for your time and review. Our 2200 arrives in two days. We cant wait. What I don't understand is that in Europe the machine is delivered with the water filter included. No matter, they don't cost the earth.
I bought this machine in end of 2023, and I love the review, and the machine. My previous machine was 4 times as expensive and 4 times as labor expensive :-) So thank you.
@@jpl3170 It's great so far! It took about 5 uses or so to calibrate, but it's been consistently brewing good, strong shots of espresso with a nice crema.
Thanks very much for the detailed review! This really helped me decide to go ahead and purchase one. I was able to pick one of these up for $160 thanks to a great sale and so far I love it. I do wish that the espresso shot was a little less watery at the finest setting, but otherwise it produces great shots of espresso. My milk frothing pitcher is arrive today and I can't wait to give a cappuccino a try. Cheers!
I have had it for two years and still performs well. I have tons of Philips products from razors and toothbrushes to pasta makers and this espresso machine. With proper cleaning and care, it should work for several years
Thank you for this review. You are a very good presenter! I am probably getting this due the size and features because I don’t need milk. I usually just drink lungos or americanos.
list of questions. 1.which filter it uses, is it plastic, paper, metal mesh, metal net, or compound type, or specially made for this machine. 2. Is the filter washable, or replacable, do i need to change filter for every 10 cups, or wash it after long use. 3. Are the inner parts holding coffee made up of metal or plastic, does heated one coffe tastes like plastic- if there is plastic. 4. Can we adjust bar pressure for espresso. 5. If oily bean are put-in;does it gets jam, or.... 'as oil has a special tang and flavour with swinging notes (more people may not like that but it is really amazing experience)' 6. does its esspresso content contains suspended fine coffee particles... or the brew is clean like extract.
Excellent if brief review. Pity the camera decided to move to the buttons just as the espresso was coming out. we’ll just have to assume it had a good crema.
Bought this machine thanks to this review. Really nice. And this woman reminds me of the genereer working with the founder of the spordrive from startrack discovery haha
@@nikandluketravel fair enought but it's honest to say 'the filter DOES come with the machine, but we take it out of the box to sell to you separately'
Thank you for the review. Could you please advise what is the best combination of settings in order to get the best espresso that this machine can produce? The grinder is on 4 (from 12), Aroma strength is on 3 (max), Drink quantity is on 1 (min). But the espresso is still slightly watery and has a slightly burnt taste. I fail to achieve a good cream and a dense round taste of the body. Please help with advise.
@@Theag393 the grinder needed some time to calibrate and now it works very good on position number 5. Espresso now is tasty, and with a nice cream. When producing the espresso you just need to wait for and skip the strange buggy water that machine spills right before producing the espresso itself (just wait for the water it drops and then place the cup under it). I made a short video on producing espresso: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-b7h7msYIZcY.html
I've had this machine for just over a year. I'm not a fan. Because it automatically purges water when the machine starts up, there is always a bit of water left in the line forcing you to toss the first espresso out because it comes out watery (such a waste). I was forced to buy a new machine when my Saeco odea giro crapped out but that machine made wayyy better espresso with more crema than this one. I've messed around with grinder settings and beans (oily /less oily). Everything comes out disappointing. Philips customer service is no help. The only thing I like about this machine is the design. Love that the water tank slides out and easy to fill. If you enjoy espresso, look for something else or you are going to be disappointed. Just my 0.2¢
Great review. I bought the same machine but unfortunately I cannot make volume adjustment for highest setting. Machine enters to programming mode but after filling the cup 170-180 cc, it quits programming mode. So, I cannot program the highest setting for my big cups. Did you have such an issue with your machine? Thanks
Hi, thanks for the review.. I've a few questions hope you will be able to help me.. 1. does the trip tray can be replace to the stainless steel one from the EP3221? 2. Does the panarello wand can be replace to a regular classic one? Thanks!
This is our second K-Classic. We had our first one for many years, so when we had to replace it, we wanted nothing else but this exact ru-vid.comUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf model. We use it for about three people everyday in the morning. The taste and quick brew is one of the reasons we like it so much. There are so many choices of brands of coffee that we would grab what was on sale and test the different brands from there. I would definitely recommend trying different brands of coffee to find the ones you like the most because there are brands that quite frankly taste horrible.
Great review? Anyone have any tips on how to improve the thickness of the crema? I find that's one of the weaker points of this machine, which I've owned for about a month so far.
Hello! Nice video, but i wonder what beans do you think is the best for philips 2220? I've tried so many diffrent beans but i never get any good Coffee, thanks for all help!
I have a magnifica S, this looks a lot like it ... I am thinking of buying this for the office. yes/no? as it is almost half the price of a magnifica S when on sale~ hmmmm
Hi. I’m a bit late. I’m thinking of buying this machine. Just one question, does it have a timer, like if I wanted it to make my coffee at 7am without me doing it manually? I subd. I like the channel’s name. Lived in Seattle for 7 years. I’m a bit sad with what’s going on. I wish you the best guys.
Hello! The machine does rinse itself with some regularity, and that's likely what you're noticing. If you notice issues with your drinks and it is constantly rinsing, it's worth contacting Philips support!
hi dear. tnx for nice video! one question.. i use manuel delonghi bco 420 now and want to buy automatic machine. will i taste the same espresso or better or worse? which one u prefer? manuel or automatic? last question, are these automatic machines suitable for long-term use? tnx in advance
It's a great video. I would like to know something more about cleaning the brewing mashine. You said something about once a week. Is it better to clean it after every use so the waist of coffee doesn't get muddy and susceptible to bacteria? Than you
Hello, When I steamed milk, the steam tube spray out steam and water drops, and my milk became milk water. Do I need to "warm up" the pipe? may you please tell me what is wrong with my operation? Thanks a lot !
I had the same issue and was so disappointed! You’ll be surprised how easy you can fix this. There’s a little black “thing” in the end of the wand. Just push that thing until it sticks out a little bit and that’s it!!! Problem solved
@@Isofile Thanks. Is just that i cant see properly or i may say that its confused to see which way to turn to the smallest dot if clockwise or counter clockwise. There is an arrow at the bottom pointing two ways at the same time.
The camera man HAD to skip the part when the coffee (finally) comes out, didn't he? Anyway, this coffee machine waiting time is mind blowing, I won't pay for that thing. Thx for the review
Crap machine 😂...its saeco lol Better go with magnifica s Very loud grinder. High rma rate. Hard or nearly impossible to clean. 3 strength settings only. Huge ammount of play in all parts.
How does this compare to the breville barista pro? Will there be a super appreciable difference in taste? Does the Breville rely too heavily on user skill to really reach its potential? Thanks for the help
Breville is for advanced users that know how to dial in espresso shots. Not a big deal but it can be frustrating as every time you change coffee you need to fix grind size, dose, lenght to get that perfect cup of espresso. The superautomatic on the other hand uses pressurized portafiler so coffee is always great regardless of user input. In theory the breville is more advanced and the superautomatic is more convenient. I personally prefer the superautomatic as its simpler - fill hopper, water tank, push a button or two and voila you get espresso.
Hi there, there's a passthrough chute on top of the machine with a little door covering it. Just pour a scoop of ground coffee into that with the included scoop and select a drink - it should use the ground coffee! You can check out the manual for step by step instructions on how to do this.
I waited for a special and bought the 1200 entry level, just in case it doesnt last, in 2years I will upgrade to the 5400 when the price drops. My unit mever came with a filter...sad, Using Distilled water so I never descale any kettle/coffee machine ever...my elements last forever with distilled water. Been using distilled water for over 7 years ...well worth it, also keeps me healthier too. The bad thing with this superauto is that I drink too much coffe now, because it s too easy to make...make me lazy now:)😂
greetings, everything works perfectly - 4 coffees a day and sometimes more if we have guests. Every 3-5 months I clean the whole thing and lubricate it, twice my grinder got stuck, but that's because there are sometimes hard beans in the coffee and maybe small stones. ..My recommendation, a good device for $500 in my country....
You showed the water reservoir, but unless I missed it, I didn't hear any mention of how the milk is handled. Did you just pour it in before making the video? Or does this thing actually have a compressor and keep it cold for days?
I'm thinking of either getting this one or the breville bes 870 which do you think I should get Gail, would really appreciate it price point, in my country these are about the same atm?
I've just bought the machine and I really liked it. I was not sure about at first I was going to buy Gaggia machine but this was the cheapest. I'm happy that I've made a good choice. thanks for the review it really helped me to go on with Philips
