I think this is waterproof in the sense you can use it under the shower too. This is not a new model it is many years old. NIMH is the name it is. Nickel Magnesium Hydride batteries hoti hai. I have a an S3122 which is wet and dry, 1 hour charge for 55 minutes of use but it is a shitty product or i got a bad piece I'm about to file a complaint. They would have replaced it if you sent it by courier. The charger is different I had the AT 890 and that had a different charger and S3122 has a different.

i have AT890 used 3 times and everytime i had severe small pimples just after using and now after 5-6 yrs lying in back of my drawer its battery is dead philips service centre is asking 850 for changing battery

The holes are not wrong because they have to protect you from the blades if that screen breaks and you accidentally use it you will get a very bad cut on your face. I actually searched for S3122 reviews to understand whether it is my unit that is bad or is it the shaver being bad as a product. AT 890 was 8hour charge type but I missed it when the original battery drained and added a li ion with a charging module and used a 2600 mah battery instead of the stupid 600 or 800 mah that was inside it. It was for RS.4000 plus but i got it on a sale for Rs. 2500. Great shaver at a great price.
