static stripes come from dirty DTF brushs/tracks, the white bridge over the drum. just clean tracks and brushs, and you'll be good :) you might also clean the mode switch brushs, that's very likely what cause it to shut down while loading tape. there's also another reason : a noisy loading motor, creating noises spikes and random behaviour...
Some great tips there. I do have a second part to the Philips V2000 machine to come where I'll be cleaning those very same contacts. I do tend to always clean the deck state contacts even if they're not causing issues as they always look so tarnished. That's interesting on the loading motor noise and something I'll have to look out for. I have had this issue with older VHS machines but well worth knowing for these fine machines too. What a cracking machine and another excellent video you've produced Alex!! I'm looking forward to your other V2000 instalments. I've never had one of these newer gen Philips machines pass thgrough my hands....yet! I've have got an ITT and PYE V2000 here and beautiful B&O V2000 deck which looks to be in excellent condition. Sadly no stereo ones though. I've also got 3 Grundig 2X4 Super 1600's and a 2X8 front loader. Also taking up space are 2 and a half N1700's if you need parts. Anyway, I'm looking forward to us getting together and spending some serious anorak time talking about and playing with old video recorders!

No offence, but I have to say, I've been watching for two and a half minutes, and if I had a pound for every time I heard the word, "erm," I wouldn't need to win the lottery this weekend, as I'd already, "erm," be rich! 🤣 EDIT: Actually, I find myself overusing the word "right" all the time! I realise it was now some time ago, but I'm sorry for your loss. I lost two friends, my brother, my mother, and my father in a short space of time.
I know - I'm sorry. My wife picks me up on this too and I am trying as it just wastes valuable video time! I used to do the same thing with 'right' too. I did go through a stage of recording and then re-recording the same clip as I found I didn't 'Umm' so much the second time but it is difficult for some scenes. I may well do a parody on the channel made up from all the 'Umms'!

I constantly find myself saying "right" and it drives me nuts! ... And it's actually REALLY difficult to stop bad habits! Maybe it's our little "ways" that makes us interesting? Unfortunately I only have a Dutch manual and it doesn't appear to even have the error codes. What does the machine do/ not do? Let me know if you'd like a copy of it though and I'll send you a link.
Sadly it is just rattle-can sprayed white which is a real shame. As I say in the video, you can really see the over spray which has found it's way inside too.
Hola, esas rayas horizontales que aparecen no son del cabezal ni la cinta, suelen ser las patillas de arriba del cabezal que tocan la pletina blanca superior, donde se ajusta el contador de vueltas del cabezal de video, ahí verás unas patillas que hay que limpiar cuidadosamente su superfice, y el circulo dorado donde tocan también. Si está sucio salen esas rayas parásitas de la imagen. Cuidado con doblar esas patillas, deben contactar correctamente en su respectiva pista, y no modifiques nada más de ahí. Observo que has pintado el frontal de blanco o imprimación. Un saludo.
