Oh don't do this to me..... THIS was the Monitor I used on my A500 and A1200 until it died ☹☹☹☹ I LOVED it!! I would give anything to use one again. Despite all my nostalgia and love of my loss, great video ❤ and look out for my Inviyya review soon 🤗🤗

If you live in Europe it is still a monitor you can quite easily get on Ebay. Prices lies somewhere from 120€ to 200€ depening on what condition. I recently bought one from Germany for about 158€ (shipping included). Hopefully it will arrive in one piece :)

Fun video. I've got the same monitor with the same issue (though on the composite input). Nice to see it's a simple re-solder job, though I always get anxious about discharging the CRT.

They are great, I have the Daewoo model and RGB is great with PSX but I can connect a VCR on the composite

This was pretty educational. It would be really nice to learn electronics from you in some sort of class. I have to repair an old 14" Goldstar TV soon, so your advice on discharging will be really useful In case the problem is more complex. Your laugh is contagious. Can't help it.

It would be a good idea to also reflow the mounting pins as well as the other connectors while you're at it.

Love these screens. I've got two, one of them is mint, barely used. Buuuuut the flyback died after a few weeks so I need to get that sorted. I got a replacement but I'm not feeling brave enough to install it.

If only all retro hardware repairs were that easy. It's a really nice monitor! If it wouldn't have been too expensive (for me) back in the 80s, I would have chosen this instead of the CM8802 I have.

I have the original Commodore Monitor, dug it out the other day. Pressed the On/Off switch, it got stuck....I put it back. I will just fix it vicariously through you, why I eat a 99.

I heard so much good stuff about these Amiga CRTs. Which would you recommend for someone into retro games looking for a really good CRT - a Phliips CM8833-II or a Sony PVM/BVM CRT?

Looks deceptively simple. I'll go check the connectors on mine and hope I don't need to pluck up any courage. One of mine has a crackle when the volume knob is turned so I may have a poke about.

This is honestly super cool! I love seeing repairing old RGB monitors for gaming. Question: I have heard of youtubers actually modding crtvs but there is no real comparison or compilation of info on how RGB- moddible crt monitors or TVs are. Do you know any info on that? Has there been any sort of work on compiling all the info?

What's the music at the start of your video Ms Mad Lemon? I have heard it before, but can't freakin remember who or what it's from. Was it Zaman by Madjia? Where could I obtain the mod file please? Love your blue A1200 by the way 🙂
