This is such good marketing. This will be the first ever coffee machine that I'm gonna buy and I was a little bit nervous because I didn't exactly know how to properly use it. This video is a great, simple and easy way to show us how it works. Thanks guys!
Hi there, thanks for your comment! We're glad to hear that you find this video helpful. Are you going for the Series 1200 or 2200? Either way: enjoy your new espresso machine! And don't hesitate to let us know in case you have any questions about it in the future. :)
Just got mine set up and tried it this morning. It REALLY makes a truly delicious cup of coffee! I'd usually take a tumbler of coffee to carry to work. (12 oz). Using the '2' Cups of Coffee on the largest quantity is perfect. Everything else, so far, is great!
@@IronMan-jj2fd this is the best thing that happened to my kitchen in a long time. I've been using it since October and a few weeks ago I had to go 1 day without it (was waiting on a water filter for it) and used the old, regular coffee maker and the coffee tasted to different. It had almost no taste, the aroma was non existent. If you like coffee this thing is a must.
Today i bought this machine and used an local coffee of our neighborhood! Philps equals Quality and Confidence, And that cases good coffees :) Also when coffee will be grinds, its smells amazing :) (I was using 6 Number Grinds, its looks like suits to me.) Price was reasonable for our economy.
have this coffee machine more than 1 year and absolutely love it . we drink just espresso so its perfekt for price and what it can do . until now there wasnt any sign it need calc clean with i was stressed how it cant do that but i guess filter work perfektly even though we have hardest water type. my older one just 50 eur cheaper and manual broke because water from Delon...... and need to say Philips have really perfect one . someone said it will show for cal/clean after maybe 5th or 6th filter change.
I got this machine a few days ago. I am impressed by the espresso it prepared. Pretty good job Phillips! Btw dear Phillips representative can you please tell me what’s coffee option next to espresso button? Is it filter coffee like the one from drip machines?
Thanks for your kind words about the Philips Automatic Coffee Machines. We are very happy to hear that your experience has been a positive one, and do hope it continues to be that way. For your second question, the button next to the espresso option is just regular coffee. Attached is the user manual for reference (to.philips/60571AKwU) Hope this answers your question!
Had no idea that Philips had this kind of coffee maker. I just bought a Smarter coffee maker and the Nespresso Lattissima. This one seems better because you can use whole beans and not be restricted to buying only capsules.

Hello. I've bought today Philips Series 1200 and I really like the taste of cofee it makes but the rings in the waste basket aren't tight enough as I guess they should be. They are wet and formless. I didn't change any grinder settings (they are default). Neither I made any manipulations inside. Should I take any actions? Is it normal?

I just received my EP1220/04 back from a repair center (it's less than a year old) and was instructed to prime it according to instruction manual. When I did not see anything in instruction manual for "priming" I followed a RU-vid video. The RU-vid video shows the whole water tank being emptied out during this "priming" but mine barely shot any water out. Also, the blue light indicator for the Aqua Filter is on and I have no filter in it. I am presently out of them right now. Typically, that blue light is only on when there's a filter in water tank. Is all of this okay? I have to say that while our machine was at repair center we went back to making French press. It's delicious and so much easier than going through all of this for the sake of having an individual cup of coffee at any given moment.

Good coffee machine. Do one needs to empty the water container every evening ore before a longer period (holiday) not using to prevent buildup off bacteria? Or does the Aquaclean container has to be kept wet?
Hi, great to hear that you're satisfied with your machine! The Aqua clean filter should take care of the cleaning for you. The only reason to clean it in between, is whenever you feel like it could use an extra rinse!
is there some way for trash place where water and coffee pods go to prevent it from stink ? i get even mold in it if there are more pods .but we clean it everytime we see it there . we clean it every 2nd day when its full since we drink a lot . but is there some way some tablets or something like that to prevent that smell ? we dont smell it when we make coffee only when we try to clean it . thanks beforehand for answer :)

Dear Philips support, is there an option to only heat the milk without frothering it ? And also can you explain the difference between the espresso brewing and the coffee brewing?
Hello Emanuel, thanks for your question. Espresso is brewed with more pressurized water that shoots through the ground coffee beans in under 30 seconds. This is different from making coffee, which relies on the slow filtering of hot water through the grounds. For more detailed information, you can visit this link: to.philips/6052KYKUM. In addition, the EP3241 is not designed to warm milk. We hope this answers your question. Feel free to get back to us if you need further advice. Thank you.

Hello, thank you for reaching out. We are happy to assist you with your query. To make a long black with your Series 1200 espresso machine, you need to follow these steps: 1. Fill the water tank with fresh water and insert it into the machine. 2. Turn on the machine and wait for it to heat up. 3. Place a cup under the coffee spout and press the coffee button once. The machine will dispense a single shot of espresso. 4. Fill a kettle with water and bring it to a boil. 5. Pour hot water over the espresso in your cup until you reach the desired strength and volume of your long black. We hope this helps you enjoy your coffee. If you have any other questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us again. Have a nice day!

Dear Philips support, I have owned the 2200 espresso machine for about a year now. Is it possible to check the stats of the machine, like how many cups were made during its lifetime?

Hi there, thanks for asking. Yes, you can, but depending on the water hardness and use of the device, the device may ask for descaling sooner than it is supposed to. Hope this helps!
Hello Kayley, thanks for reaching. The LatteGo 1200 does not come with an AquaClean filter included, and can be purchased separately. We hope this helps, but let us know if there are any further questions. Wishing you a pleasant day.
Is the water hardness still accurate if i left the swab unter the tap water for 5 to 10 seconds @Philips? I got all excited and skipped that part of the manual accidently ;) .. Mine is 4 so i was abit suprised.
We appreciate your enthusiasm in using our water hardness testing strip. According to the general guidelines, it's recommended to dip the testing strip in the water for just 1 second, then remove it, gently shake off any excess water, lay it on a flat surface, and read the results after one minute. If the swab was left under the tap water for 5 to 10 seconds, it's possible that this deviation from the recommended procedure may have affected the accuracy of the reading. We would advise performing the test again, adhering to the 1-second dip guideline to ensure an accurate reading of the water hardness.
No, for making Coffee, you need the water to be cooked, within this machine, to make a certain pressure, so the machine can pump it thru its pipes, to the coffee cup. If you want to have a colder coffee, you need to add cold water afterwards, and so the taste will change too. So, be aware if you want colder coffee, you make the coffee more strong, and so you can add cold water more easier.

Hi there, Yvaylo. Thanks for reaching out and for interest in our product. After turning on the coffee machine, the second step is activating the aqua filter. Hi, just got this machine and I couldn’t find the Aquaclean filter. Should it be included in the box or do I have to purchase it separately? I’m from France. Thank you!
@@Philips Thanks for your prompt reply! I apologize I wasn’t clear enough in my previous message. What I meant is that when your purchase the machine, is the filter included in the accessories just like the milk frother? Because in that case, I’ll return to the vendor and ask them to give me the filter since mine is missing in the box. I’m trying to determine if it was an oversight from the vendor or not 🙂 If the filter was to be purchased separately in the first place, then I’ll order one. Thank you so much for your assistance!

Hi, just got a Philips EP2220/10 as a birthdaypresent! my question is, do you have to buy more aquaclean water filter as time comes or is it enough with that one who came with the machine? how regularly does it need to be cleaned or to calc it?

@@Philips I have the 2200 series EP2220 . Also when I did the strip test for water harshness the strip remained as is ( I used reverse osmosis filtered water). So I just decided to set water harshness to 1.
Thanks for letting us know. If this is the first time using your espresso machine, it is normal that the first brewed coffees are watery as the system is still adjusting. Try to brew a few more cups of coffee in order to optimize the extraction of the coffee with the compactness of the ground coffee. It can also be the case the brew group is dirty. We recommend rinsing the brew group weekly as a dirty brew group filter can cause a bad water flow and affects the coffee taste. To clean it, follow the steps below: -Switch OFF the machine and wait until it is completely off and does not make any more noises (this takes about 15-20 seconds) -Open the service door and remove the brew group by pressing the “PUSH” button to the right side, hold it, and pull it towards you -Rinse the brew group thoroughly with lukewarm water and let it air-dry before placing it back. For more information, you can check the following link here: to.philips/6053G1dW9. Hope this helps. :)
Thank you for doing the harshness test. Next up, you switch off the machine, tap and hold the aroma strength icon until all lights in the icon go on. Then, tap the aroma strength icon 1, 2, 3 or 4 times. The number of lights that are on should be the same as the number of red squares on the test strip. When there are no red squares on the test strip (so all squares are green) please select 1 light. When you have set the correct water hardness, press the start/stop button. Finally, press the on/off icon to switch on the machine. Let us know if this has been useful. :)
Dear philips support. I want to adjust and change the degree of coffee grinder. When can I do this function? In your vidio shows when the machine turns on and the grinder works at a time she changes the coffee grinder but I think it can be damaged. Can I adjust it when the coffee machine turns off ??
Hi Newsha, thanks for your comment. To adjust the grinder settings of your Philips espresso machine, you can follow these steps: 1) Open the lid of the bean container. 2) First place the adjustment key on the grinder adjustment knob, then press down the grind setting knob and turn it to the left or right. If there is an adjustment knob, no extra tool is needed, you can press it down and turn it left or right. 3) Turning it a notch left or right, adjusts the setting. There will be either dots or numbers to indicate the grind setting. A smaller dot/number equals to a smaller particle size. 4) Try brewing two to three cups of coffee to taste the difference. The sensor will make the adjustments to the amount of time the grinder spins to make sure that the correct amount of coffee is being ground and as a result you will have an optimal shot of espresso. We hope this helps! Feel free to send us a message on one of our Philips Home Living pages (Twitter or Facebook) if you have other questions.
@@Philips thanks but I don’t underestand your help about you said : (First place the adjustment key on the grinder adjustment knob). It means that I should first turns the coffee machine on then press espresso key and while the machine works, adjust the degree of grinder? or it’s not important to turns it on for adjustment ?!
Hi again! The grinder setting of your Espresso machine can be adjusted by using the grind setting knob inside the bean container. In some machines you will need to use the back of the handle of the pre-ground scoop as an adjustment key. It is the same if you complete this process while the machine is on or off. We hope this helps!

Got mine yesterday. Followed the setup steps in the user manual. But when the machine is heated up and in standby mode, when I select espresso, it cycles through the 4 buttons (espresso, coffee, hot water steam) just like when the machine is first starting up. Hi i have a Philips 2220/10. I have a problem when i choose Coffee in pre-ground coffee mode. Pre-ground normally works for espresso choice. But It just gives water in coffee choice mode. How can i fix this problem?
Thanks for taking the time to reach out. It's too bad that your coffee has been a bit watery, and we would like to look into this a bit more. Watery coffee is usually the result of the brew group being dirty or needing to be lubricated. You can clean the brew group by removing it from the machine, rinsing it under the tap, and then letting it dry. We hope this helps out, but do let us know if we can assist with anything else. :)

Hi there, thanks for your query. Would you kindly indicate the specific model number of your coffee machine, so we could check this for you? :) You can see this imprinted on the product sticker inside the brew group.
@@Philips EP2220/40 i think figure it out how ot changes temperature and i gave maximum, but with thermometer show 76°,is this maximum or can be more, because i want around 90°?! Thank you!
Great to hear that you have found how to change the temperature! Unfortunately, if you have already set the temperature on max, there is no other way to increase the temperature.
@@Philips thanks and one more thing, when i checked how hard is my water from the tap it's showing me 3 and a bit of more from 4 points, so which i need to use on settings 3rd scale or 4th?
Thanks for getting back to us. For this, we recommend looking at the user manual on page 16 (to.philips/6056Gj4lr). The water hardness should match the water hardness of your region and prevents descaling the appliance often. Hope this helps!
The biggest difference between the two is definitely that the 2200 has an automatic LatteGo milk frother. Whilst the 1200 has a panarello (a manual frother). So there's a bit more expected from the user if you want to make a cappuccino for example. The 2200 does it with a press of the button, but on the 1200 you'll need to froth the milk and mix it in with the espresso yourself.
@@Philips this is not true. LatteGo is a separate system available in the model 2231, 2236, 2235. The difference between 1200 and 2200 is in an aroma tray and the silver strip around the touchscreen.
Thanks for your question here, Ra. You can find the user manual here for instructions about the types of coffee you can make here: to.philips/6056GTXim. Cheers!

When I switched on my 2200 machine this morning, the grinding light was flashing and it wasn't working (the icon under the water icon). Can anyone help me with this? Thanks.
Hello, thanks for reaching out. Are you referring to the drip tray icon (looks like a cup pouring out)? If so, this means that the drip tray needs to be emptied. We hope this helps, but do let us know if there are any further questions.
Hi Har, thank you for reaching out to us. We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing some issues with your machine. We'd love to take a closer look and assist you further. Hi Archie, thanks for your comment. The LatteGo can definitely make a Caffè Latte. For all the product features you can take a look at the corresponding product page. There’s a link to said page in the description bar of the video. Hopefully that answers your question.
