Philips turntable did not run. Found badly tarnished contacts and a loose arm. Either of theses might have caused the problem but having cleaned the contact plate and tightened the arm fixing screw all is now good.
Thank you so much, I had spent hours yesterday troubleshooting my dads old Philips F7226 the inner mechanics of my record player only to discover the tonearm screw was not tightened :) Quite hard to find information on these models
Hello Brian, thanks for this video. My old F7112 that I got from my father had exactly the same two errors. After it's repaired, it plays my records again!
I've just picked one of these up from a charity shop for £10. It said it only played 45's, but it does play albums as well! I think the rubber bungs for the lid are actually fitted to the corner of the lid rather than the body, as mine has the same issue with them leaving a sticky mess on the body of the player. I need to work out what to replace them with. It works when you move the tone arm to the start of the record, but I'm not sure if it's supposed to automatically return when it gets to the end. It's going to be a small project to sell on once I'm happy with how it plays. Don't want to spend a lot of money on it so that it can go for a reasonable low price as It's no high end equipment, but better than some of the new rubbish being sold and I'd rather someone played their vinyl on this as a starter than a suitcase style player!
I've opened op the bottom but can't figure out how to get the plate out. I need to re-new the belt, so I have to take off the plate first. Got so far as to understand it doenst come straight off and I need to do it from the bottom, but can't figure out how to release it.
