This is, by far, my favorite baseball talk show on the internet. Ken is a master. He knows so much about baseball, from the idiosyncratic to the nomothetic. He conveys it in video as an artist. I wish I knew where to track down all of his work more easily without getting stuff on a ton of segments without him. Alanna is both a deep Dodgers fan (53 year fan on this side), deeply knowledgeable about the sport, and a great cohost in this and Dodgers Territory. I love that you call out advances for women in baseball. I am a huge ally for equality in sports and, although still slow, have loved seeing the advances of women in baseball over the recent years, including on the field coaches. I do think baseball will be one of the hardest sports for women to crack into the player realm given the appreciable demand for upper body strength (vs. a kicker/punter in football, etc.). That said, when a woman meets all of the performance abilities for any role, just them on that alone and not their gender. Oh, and pay them equitably as well!

Question for Ken regarding the pitcher injury situation: I've heard that the injury rate is lower in Japanese baseball. Is this true? If it is true, does that provide a clue for a possible solution? I know that they use a different baseball in Japan: a little bit smaller, a little bit lighter, and a little bit tackier. Could switching to a baseball like that be a way to reduce injuries?

How about having otani learn how to play Left Field? It's a lot easier than pitching. Lower likelihood of injury to arm.

The Braves easily got the better deal they parted only with Grissom but received Sale and the $17M. Grissom isn't looking very good so far. I'm not sure what Boston was thinking there. The Red Sox have made a few head scratching moves with the biggest one being the signing of Story.

Wash didnt criticize the player. All he said was that he didn't do the job. This is a matter of fact not a matter of criticism. I'm sure if wash made a bad decision he would be the first one to say it. Criticizing the player is saying he's lazy or he's not hustling. Ect.

As usual Ken Rosenthal has no idea about Shohei. The reason Ohtani decided to go through the surgery was BECAUSE HE WANTED TO PITCH COMPETITIVELY! If not he can hit without the surgery and actually even Pitch. But as he said in the interview, What’s the point of pitching if you can only reach 90-92mph, then better have the surgery and be able to pitch 100mph. From the horses mouth Why these reporters ignore this fact and what Ohtani has said himself.
