Considering the narcissism and tribalism that exists in the world today, being embraced by large segments of the "normal people"--then I think you got the point.
@@ericstorm6582 He understands what being human means, and is full of compassion for other beings and willing to sacrifice himself for the good of others. He is more human than most people, in that way.
@@meropedurwood5514 well he literally is a type of human too, can feel, think, has “free will” just like a flesh human, but he’s a synthozoid (synthetic humanoid) . It’s like you have to look at vision as a genuine good human too, not like some bot, he’s way more complex !
He's a being trying to understand humans, since humans are humans they believe they understand themselves. A human could know more about an animal or Insect more than they creature understands itself. An outside perspective can have a better understanding. At least in theory. We don't know what a dog is thinking unless he/she can speak.
Idk though, self-sustainability is also beautiful. Things that don’t last can be beautiful, but equally so if they do. And if they do, the beauty lasts more lifetimes. He’s right but also could take it further. After all, beauty being subjective means literally anything can be beautiful.
Okay but to be fair to White Vision, in actual philosophy classes, if you're familiar with a certain topic, it's expected of you to summarize what it is in your own words. Because saying "yes" isn't necessarily enough depending on the situation. I've been in such classes, so, I can actually confirm that (though it also depends on which country you are). That and, well, the dude's an android. It's potentially natural for him to just explain things when asked.
@@twaggytheatricks4960 yeah but Vision and White Vision are literally the same, they KNOW they're both familiar with whatever one of them already knows. It was definitely just for the audience lol
@@romilrh Oh, that's not the part that I'm disputing. As in, that from a cinema-perspective, they did it for the audience. They are literally the same, yes, but they didn't know how much yet. The whole point of Vision even asking if White Vision was familiar with the Ship of Theseus is specifically because he didn't know if his white double was familiar with that particular philosophical conundrum or not. White Vision then would have explained out of reflex for the explained reason I provided (still an educated guess, of course). To give a real-life example: my brother and I both learned/watched various fictional and real concepts at the same time. We're around a decade and a half after starting our educational processes together, yet if he asks something like "do you know the Monster Chara Head trope?" (he asked me like... a week ago, I think) I am _still_ going to explain what it is to him after saying "yes", even though we both _definitely know_ that I watched and remember both the anime Needless, and the fact that said anime explains exactly what that is in episode 5. (FYI: a monster chara head is what happens when a new character in a story physically resembles another one and interferes with their screen-time when they become more popular than them.) So, as stated, what I'm bringing to attention here isn't that you're wrong; because you're totally right in saying that the explanation by White Vision is technically unnecessary for both of them, so it has to be for the audience. What I'm saying, however, is that to be fair, there are legitimately people who actually do this in real life, even in situations in which they shouldn't have to. Like, my brother isn't a clone of myself, but we literally watched the exact same shows at the exact same time and we both know I have a decent long-term memory. I shouldn't have to explain anything when asked by him of all people. ...Still gonna do it. Because that's part of how we communicate. It doesn't even take long, anyway; like, this comment is long, but the actual monster chara head explanation took me a single sentence.
"I have been a voice with no body, a body but not human, and now a memory made real. Who knows what I might be next." That beautiful and optimistic take on his impending 'death' but still uses a logic to me is just SO Vision.
Actually that holds true for all of us...In true sense...no one knows what actually happens after we leave our organic forms...so who knows..what we maybe next?
@@JayJay-kq8olTo be immortal, you have to be either more than human or less. But being human is finite. We’re dying from the very 1st moment that we’re born.
This is probably the best romance in all of MCU. And it's ironic that it happens between a "Carbon-based Synthezoid" and a "Magic Witch touched by an Infinity Stone".
good thing that's an opinion because say what you want Captain America holding Mew mew was the best fucking thing ever. It gave me a chub in the theater.
@@indepth9930 I agree, but do those little moments have 20 plus movies of build up in the MCU? No, theyre bombastic with music roaring. Dont worry, with time the MCU will get creative directors who will do moments like that.
"I wish to understand it. The more I do the less it controls me. One day, who knows, I may even control it." Love how Wanda called back this moment in WV. She told Monica that she didn't understand her power, but that she will. She's trying to understand it so it doesn't control her anymore.
I lost my friend 7 years ago and it still hurts. I thought it would go away but I still miss him. But after Vision said "But what is grief, if not love persevering?" my heart felt much better and all made sense. I think it's the best line in entire MCU.
That's wonderful. "A thing isn't beautiful BECAUSE it lasts" is my favorite in the MCU. For the same reasons. It reminds me to cherish the memories of my lost loved ones instead of wishing they had simply lived longer.
This comment reminds me of a sad comment about how someone's son died and he loved Vison and they explained how their son would've loved Wanda Vison and wished he was still alive. That almost made me cry
Falcon and the Winter Soldier continued with this when you examine Karli and John Walkers' characters and how they felt driven to do what they did out of feelings of powerlessness and rage they couldn't control.
Was going to say something from the Da Vinci Code, Then I thought Michael but I went for The Priest, Monsignor Chamberlain : Remember your vow: to go against the Church is to go against God.
the look wanda had on her face after vision told her “but what is grief, if not love persevering” I LOVE, you can tell by her reaction vision’s advice really helped her.
"A thing isn't beautiful because it lasts" One of the last things he says to Ultron before killing off the last copy. I have always felt he meant it about Ultron as well, and even though Ultron calls him "hopelessly Naive", he understood the sentiment. Ended up being true about Vision as well.
My favorite vision quote ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fPcyOpWhbYg.html and yes I searched to see if such a thing existed. I'm that wonked out my cranium
I love how Vision is like Jarvis’ consciousness put into Ultron’s body, powered by the mind stone. He’s so complicated both his origin and his viewpoints on philosophical issues and morality. Vision is a beautiful character.
“Well, because it can’t all be sorrow, can it? I’ve always been alone, so I don’t feel the lack. It’s all I’ve ever known. I’ve never experienced loss because I’ve never had a loved one to lose. But what is grief, if not love persevering?”
"We'll say hello again" just blindsided me again and I immediately welled up. Wow. It wasn't even in the context of the series or even the full scene, just the words and the acting. Beautiful tragedy and tragic beauty.
When you realize that Vision has super strength, flight, literally made of vibranium meaning he’s a human cap shield, can go through objects, has high intellect and has lasers….. *But has still died the 2nd most times in the entire MCU.*
Alright, I see why she was so hesitant to kill Vision in IW now. Obviously killing someone you love isn't easy, but it's because Vision came and was able to help her heal after her brother died.
Well, being human means to be imperfect. We've always carried this burden. Yet, it won't last forever, for the human essence is divine, not material, it cannot rot.
@@ddogvtae9142 Yip, when you think about it, it is such a narcissistic and arrogant point of view and maybe a bit delusional. Thinking you are somehow so much more important than you really are.
His quote on grief is one of the best sentences ever. And kudos to Paul Bethany for making the Vision so memorable. He was born to play this character.
The ship of theseus bit is my favorite part of all of Wandavision and it bums me out that not many people I've seen get it. To truly be you is to have all your memories. All your experiences. All the damage and scrapes and. . . Well . . . "Rot". Your history is what makes you who you are. Strip that away and you turn it from the ship of Theseus to just any ship.
He has nearly all of human knowledge, plus years of experience as Jarvis interacting with humanity, including our best. I believe the latter is what made him different from Ultron, who had only knowledge but no experience.
0:47 I feel in this scene Vision might be trying to put a double meaning in his words, comparing his and Wanda's situations, Wanda asking if he's scared of the Mind Stone might be her projecting the feelings of her own powers and Vision response with exactly what Wanda needs, not fear, but understanding and control of her abilities, which she will later go on to do when Vision has finally gone from her life
He was good in other roles I've seen him play to.. I very much enjoyed his performance as the ship's doctor in Master and Commander and as a trader during a market crash in Margin Call.
0:44 I love the parallels here to the human mind - it's part of of us and it's something we try to understand, the more we do the less it controls us. Really poetic. Love it.
These moments are what I loved most about vision and what he represents as a character. His talk with White Vision as opposed to a fight of strength is still one of the greatest moments in MCU history so far
Vision has been my favorite MCU character since Age Of Ultron. When he died in infinity war, I lost my shit. Never cried so hard in my life. WandaVision just made it worse, even though the show was incredible.
I thought it showed such maturity on behalf of Disney, when they doubled down on Vision's death. You have to struggle through the molasses-thick emotional draw of the first time Wanda has to nuke the stone, and you mourn with her as she screams through it. Then Thanos shows up, rewinds the incredibly intimate sacrifice that the two just shared together, and so unceremoniously gouges out Visions forehead like a soft piece of fruit. It all felt so violating and real, you think you at least got to grieve with some modicum of emotional closure because Wanda and Vision were able to end it on their terms (what was left of them at least, in a theater of war), and then Thanos reaches through the screen and practically yanks that closure away from you, promptly spitting on it. I also appreciate how they handled Vision confronting himself, because at first the fists get to flyin' and the lasers start peppering the sky, but the writers still remembered to retain Vision's canonical pragmatism and forethought. The way he disarmed himself was nothing short of poetic, and that hardly has anything even to do with the dialogue. I just love that they didn't betray his nature, and have him brawl it out for 30 minutes to a stalemate. It felt very intuitive even how the real Vision stopped to actually listen in the middle of a fight, because of course a being as intelligent and strategic as the Vision would respond that way to such a sound argument.
Beautifully written, The_Traveler. and perfectly true. Even though hex Vision was created from the Mindstone inside Wanda, he was true to his original character. Easily the best written Disney+ show.
The Mind Stone gave him a sort of...cosmic awareness. You may say that cosmic intelligence gave him a deep understanding of human nature as the stone connects to all living beings across the cosmos.
Vision is more than just the mind stone. He is a complex being made up of a combination of the Jarvis AI, Tony Stark, Bruce Banner, Ultron, Thor’s energy and love for Wanda.
Wandavision truly sold that relationship between Wanda and vision and it truly makes you feel the loss that Wanda suffers in infinity war and endgame that much harder…
To me, Vision is one of the best characters in the MCU. It's definitely one of my favorites. The design is great as well, looks a believably a mix of robot and human and the eyes when looked up closed are just genius
"It's all right. You could never hurt me. I just feel you" I wish you all are able to love like that. I did, and it's the best thing we can experience while alive.
