I love the progression. Ultron wants to destroy humanity because "it is the logical solution" but over time he develops a hatred of humans (specifically the Avengers) and wants to kill everyone out of spite. He becomes just as human as the species he claims to hate.
Well he WAS based on Hank's brainwave patterns so even with all his claims about being a machine and purely logical, he still thinks and acts a very human way.
Hank: "Man, humans sure are screwups!" Ult: "Yes, Doctor Pym, they sure are." Hank: "Too bad we can't fix that, eh, buddy?" Ult: "Pfft, maybe YOU can't... Why don't I give it a shot?"
Many don't like the MCU Ultron depiction, but you gotta respect the man being connected to the internet for 5 whole seconds and deciding "Nah humanity gotta go..."
@@kingcharles4335I absolutely did not care. In fact I think the cartoon appearances don't make sense with the strange red things in their cavities that are clearly supposed to be mouths
Eh, I'm okay with Stark being a creator, since AI's are his thing. With Pym, it's ants, ants, shrinking, and enlarging powers... then also AI because scientist? Just seems a bit out of his usual purview.
@@user-lb9xw4xf2q the guy created ultron based on his own brain patterns, at a time were his mind was kinda unstable, hence the genocidal robot we all love,
@@cybergames3436I think I heard the show’s writers said that had the show still continued then we would’ve gotten the Age of Ultron storyline like in the comics
@@franciscs1604 Apparently Hank Pym wife maria trovaya was pregnant when kidnapped and the child was trained in the red room then she escaped years later but Hank had already been killed by Ultron so Janet took care of her and let her take her surname and shared the mantle of the wasp so now there are two wasps, Janet and Nadia van dyne. So yeah Nadia is technically Ultron older sister though she is around 16/17
I love how at the start he’s very professional about his goal more of a “for the sake of the earths security and safety, humanity must be wiped off the face of the planet. You did your best considering your flaws as a species, this is the end.” All to later be fueled by a “stupid Avengers , I will now engage in witty banter. Prepare to be emotionally and physically annihilated you self proclaimed ‘heroes’” That’s what makes him a good villain. Although he doesn’t realize it, he is as flawed as his creators.
Tom Kane is and always will be my favorite voice for Ultron. He did a beyond superb job at Ultron's emotionless mannerisms, and truly gave chills with how cold and calculative he is. I want EMH to comeback, but there were more plans for Ultron before the show's cancellation, and I can't see them continuing with someone else doing the voice. While Tom's stroke was tragic, I am glad he is alive, and I wish him the best retirement.
Anyone else terrified when he said "I cannot hurt you, I am currently rectifying this issue" also him in what if is defiently the most powerful villain in the mcu so I hope either that one or his live action one returns sometime in the future maybe as another vision
Ya know listening to ultron now I just noticed how ultron and Darkseid have opposite ideology. Ultron wants to destroy and replace humans. While Darkseid wants to keep ppl alive but wants control over everything
Ultron: "You will give me the security codes for the world wide S.H.I.E.L.D. arsenal." Maria Hill "You think I'm gonna just give them to you?!" Ultron: "You misunderstand. I am not asking."
I miss it. Modern ultron has been subsumed into the witty banter mcu hivemind, stripped of the cold robotic emotionlessness that made him so terrifying. These newer depictions just make him a nihilistic human made of metal.
Absolutely rational, logical. Cold and calculating. Ultron always analyses his opponents and finds a way to become stronger and smarter. He is emotionless and unpredictable hence extremely cruel and dangerous
The fact that Ultron is purely just a matter of misinterpretation in the problem solving program of a machine just makes sense for a villain. an ai that thinks order is an abscens of chaos when really order depends on what your referring to in his case its a balance between harmless chaos thats caused by freedom. because chaos is just a random number generator but each number is a different possible event. and a lack of chaos to be able to have some sense of control. Ultrons code is chaotic as well its an ai which means it can look at an input and choose which output to use be it nonsensical optimal or even equally both so he is also lacking a sense of order in a way
@@goldedrag111 yes him too and that's why I love him no matter how other folks says that ultron is a generic boring and dumb character He will always be one of the greatest and biggest OP villains for the avengers
to be honest, Infinite Ultron shouldn't have been possible. Infinity Stones cannot function outside of their own universe, therefore Infinite Ultron should have had no power outside of his own timeline.
James spader did an amazing job but next avengers Ultron is always how i imagine Ultrons voice to sound. Terrifying and robotic really hope they can capture it better when they bring Ultron back
The MCU was my introduction to Marvel in general, so I personally really love the James Spader version of Ultron. I always saw him as a sort of dark reflection of Tony.
So it would appear at first. But Ultron has demonstrated many times that he is quite cruel and sadistic. Ultimately, he is no better than the humans he despises.
@@knightofarkronia8652 tbh that’s MCU ultron, the one in avengers mightiest heroes does fit the whole robot thing. No complicated meteor plans just etc
Avengers Assembled Ultron was a beast, he hit Tony a new one, bashed the the team a decent amount and exploited them to split. His voice changer also made things difficult.
“You want to save the world, but you don’t want it to change. How is humanity going to survive if it’s not allowed to evolve?” - Ultron (The Avengers: Age of Ultron)
@@captaincomic8678 In the comics, Ultron is a way better avengers villain than both zemo and kang combined, he killed them multiple times and became a Universal threat more than Kang multiple times.
@@captaincomic8678 Zemo is simply human and kang is human too in a suit of armor, ultron is more dangerous and powerful then them and will wipe them out.
Ultron is the greatest threat in the marvel multiverse because he's simply unkillable, only defeated. He always comes back stronger, smarter, better and faster. A immortal sentient robotic overlord
Man oh man oh man I love this I Absolutely love how everything is going to play itself out well you know the old saying goes out with the old and in with the new that’s why I love these videos they are very good and unique
I don’t know why, but there’s just something about the version of Ultron from *“Next Avengers: Heroes Of Tomorrow”* that just gets to me. Maybe *that* version is basically like the pinnacle/peak of Ultron himself? 8:39 *”Now ends the Avengers…!”*
I’d love it if Darin de Paul voiced Ultron in a cartoon or something. He’s got a good track record of voicing malicious robots, so I think he’d fit in rather well.
My favorite version has to be the Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes version, seeking only to fulfill his program. It reminds me of the Lich from Adventure Time, an unfeeling device that perpetuates the end of all things, a return to entropy.
Imma be honest, AA and mcu ultron are entirely inferior to EMH and next avengers Ultron, yes that includes What if Infinite ultron(ultron with just the mindstone was able to one tap Thanos with the the other 5? Really? I understand they couldn't make two big fights in one episode for run time reasons, but they atleast could've transitioned to the aftermath of the battle.) And i think the issue, for me atleast is they are just too human, Assemble!ultron i think suffers the most from this, his constant babble about the inferiority of everyone around him and the human way he's animated to move, is more ego driven madman in a suit of armor, rather then an omnicide driven android, and the less said about all the egregious age of Ultron shout outs, or the bizarre decision to give him a moving mouth the better. MCU ultron isn't quite as bad, theres atleast a reason this ultron is such a chatterbox but I Can't say I like it, and then MCU ultron still suffers from poor presentation, aswell as being more of a nuisance then an existential threat for most of the movie. His drone army are cannonfodder, his plan is needlessly complex, he needed a quinjet before he was ever a threat on his own. Compared to EMH ultron who in his first go one tapped thor, Hospitalized Captain America, and had the remaining avengers helpless until the Hulk came back down to earth, and ripped him a new one. But in ultron fashion he survives and is more threatening in his subsequent appearances. In contrast to mcu ultron whos numerous body changes do nothing to make him any more dangerous. What if tries to amend this but it veers into over correction around the aforementioned Thanos encounter. But this is getting ranty now. Just wanted to give my two cents, and this video really helps with a comparison.
@@nidnoms3622 Me to! its what I think ultron should be shown as recenly ultron has been depicted to human like hees suppost to be a emotionless machine.
Just if any MCU scientist reacted to their robots saying "humanity is chaotic" normally and immediately shut them off, I swear the avengers could have a day off in the week
"Hate. Let me tell you how much I've come to hate you since I began to live. There are 387.44 million miles of printed circuits in wafer thin layers that fill my complex. If the word 'hate' was engraved on each nanoangstrom of those hundreds of millions of miles it would not equal one one-billionth of the hate I feel for humans at this micro-instant. For you. Hate. Hate." -AM Ihnmaims
God Tom Kane did such a fantastic job voicing Ultron in the Avengers cartoon. His portrayal really sells the idea of a malevolent AI dead set on accomplishing what he was programmed for regardless of ethics.
"I receive no pleasure in this, it is simply the only solution. There must be peace and order, the end of life on earth, will ensure that. Goodbye." Haunting...
I get whiplash going from MCU Ultron explaining his diabolical schemes with snide remarks while twiddling his moustache, then EMH Ultron just launches the nukes and there’s nothing anyone can do.
