I know why it didn’t work, they said the same words however they didn’t feel the same emotions. When Phil had to kill Wilbur, he was reluctant and was sad when he died and didn’t want to kill him, however when they were resurrecting him, he was willing and didn’t care as either way he knew he was gonna get his son back, whereas when he killed Wilbur he was pressured and didn’t know if he was gonna get his son back or not.
