All around area are surrounded by ancient building date back to 11th or 12th century and in presumption this place ws built by one of Khmer's king his name is Jayavarman I. So, King Jayavarman not Khmer but he is the ancient Thai-KHOM king. Not a Khmer king. Historian that studied about Phimai historical site said that these buildings are the same architecture technique as Angkor Wat in Cambodia. Of course, because the Phimai stone temple was the prototype of the later Angkor Wat, only 900 years old. But Prasat Hin Phimai is more than 1000 years old. Prasat Hin Phimai is a grand palace that center this historical site. It's one of the ancient palace that still in perfect condition compare to the other palace from the same era. Unlike the other palace from the same era that was built to face Finally, he concluded about the Khmer art. Because Khmer art has its roots from ancient Thai-KHOM art original.
