10 people are clearly deaf. There is no other explanation. Even if Phish, jam bands, or Blues aren't your things, it is physically impossible to hear this song and not start bobbing your head or grooving in some way or another. If we ever contact intelligent life from somewhere other than Earth, this is the kind of song you let aliens listen to if you're trying to explain music to them. Stellar from top to bottom. I know it's old(er), but thank you for posting!
If Jesus Christ Himself came down and gave a new sermon these same people would downthumb it. They don't know their ass from a hole in the ground because this is a great Possum.
@Jonathan Birch You are in need of hearing assistance. Or a sense of musical taste. Or both, perhaps, since your comment blows chunks and exhibits an ignorance yet to be seen any where in this Galaxy.
I 100% wouldn't show phish to aliens the first time. It would be more ideal to show aliens a song with a deep heavy soul feeling. Not a bunch of audible nonsense. Which is what phish is. A knockoff grateful dead (one of the all time greats)
Especially not knowing is psychedelics are part of their culture, to someone who has never tripped, they listen to phish for 1 minute and avoid them for the rest of their life
A lovely homage to Skynyrds Swamp Music, and Swamp Music an Homage to Jerry Reeds mystery train...an homage to Elvis Mystery Train....an homage to junior parkers original mystery train 1953. Amazing!

That Augusta show was AMAZING! been to about a dozen since and that one still sticks out in my mind. The Tiny venue the parking lot and the two winter hats i bought and brought home that i still have after losing a couple times ahaha amazing night
Madison Square Garden is such a cool venue, anyone who hasn't caught a show there should try. Right by Times Square and the train takes you right to the venue, so no worries about getting to messed up to drive. Only bad thing is I always hear about a bunch of busts during a run. I never personally saw busts going down, but the papers the following day always listed high arrest numbers.
Heard this coming in on the morning drive, their channel. Was Live from Ohio in 93. Caught it from the middle, mostly instrumental part. Trey must have been listening to Vince Gill or Jerry Reed. I'm impressed!
@gags5503 best Possum I've ever heard was at the Augusta Civic Center on 10/19/10. It closed out the first set and I thought the roof was gonna blow right off of that tiny venue. I had the song in my head for at least 3 days after that show :-) Insane.
I have had the same thought, my 83 year old sister is an epileptic, and I sent her Phish videos. She graduated Berkeley 64. Lives in San Francisco California. She now says her favorite band is jgb. Her favorite Phish song is meat stick 🍄🐟🐟🐟🍄
Some performance are better than others 1988-89 axilla was. Superlative. Explosive jam the oceanic wave. Was a tsunami of intensity. I don't need to hear. It again Still. Deeply imbedded in my memory
