Bravo to the band and the singers/dancers for improvising through a very scary and dicey situation. These incredible performances keep me coming back to the Phish year after year after year. The love I have for this group and community is immense! Let Trey down!
I interviewed Trey two years ago (I'm a journalist) and I have to say he is one of the sweetest, most down-to-earth celebrities -- or non-celebrities for that matter -- I've ever known. Just a very generous, kind and genuine individual. I know he was trying to break the nervous tension, but when he said "I love you guys," he meant it.
Been showing pics and telling stories to everyone who dared ask "Do anything fun for NYE?". Thank you Phish for posting this! Thank you for all of the music, risks, jokes & love. And to all of the people who said "They're STILL touring?" You should definitely go see them... just the shows I can't make. PTBM are f**king tough enough to get as is...😉☮❤☮❤
We were just off the rail at Mike and I had no idea Trey's platform had tilted and thought him being stuck was all part of the gag and would provide another convenient entry for Zamfir - boy was I wrong! Trey handled it so well that I didn't even really realize how serious it was until encore > rescue squad. Glad he made it to the ground okay. Still an amazing gag and one of the best NYE runs yet. I love this band.
I know how awesome is to be Phan. But can you imagine what it’s like for them? “Yeah I played MSG, sold out, suspended in the air, on NYE. No biggie” 🤣 they felt as amazing as all of us phans. That’s the best part.

Man, 30 year old Trey blows modern Trey off the stage. Back in the day he would shred on 32nd notes like it wasn't a thing. Now he saws at whole notes all night long. Transitions where he used to play 20 notes will now skate by with 4 or 5. Far be it from me to criticize but he shows all the signs of becoming lazier with age. Or maybe he has arthritis or something.

Wow, loved your concert video & those balloon drops! Especially the 646q "hot doggy" balloons (one of my favorites). It's sooo UPLIFTING, UPBEAT & VIBRANT! Balloons, balloons, balloons. Mmmm yummy! I’m 13 and I have been coming to concerts since I was 8 and I have begging my dad to go to the New Years show. Hopefully I get it next year. I was in Charleston for the 6th and 7th, I got to meet paul and he gave me a pick!
Nothing like trusting riggers, and if you work in show biz like I do you know they’re scary people! I just feel bad for Mike and if you’ve met him he’s an odd cat but that was a leap of faith! Local 1a is definitely the cream of the crop though! I miss my MSG homies! I’ve spent many days in that venue!
honestly this NYE gag and the way Trey handled it just made me so much more appreciative of this band and how they show up for their fans and the music.

I only saw this band once in ft Lauderdale area . I think it was 1994 but could be off a year . They had a large screen with an image of a chess board and during the show Jimmy Buffett came out and sang brown eyed girl . I still listen to them quite often . Love wolf mans brother . Probably my favorite studio song .
We had the worse seats in the house, behind the stage and up high. It was like watching the show through a tunnel BUT we had a great close up of Trey stuck in the air.
What do the clones yell out at 7:00? I can't make it out. Perhaps a message of some kind... Love Phish and the schmaltzyness on NYE , so great. So much FUN with the Phab Phour and Phamily~!!!
It would have been so trippy if the band members started to dance on the stage with all the clones and get lost in the mass of clones. As amazing as it was for me in the stands it must have been such a mindfuck for people in front row.
@@harryhood8698 Their light show is like this every show. They dont usually have dancers but they always have the most sophisticated light rig of any jam band I've seen.

I always like to imagine what the people work for MSG think. Like they're probably thinking "This is the band that sold this place out the most times?'
why does Trey look like he's scared shitless during Sand even before the platforms rise? Lol, it looks like he's deathly afraid that he's about to be lingering in the air - minutes before the platforms even rise, he's standing there completely still, with the look of "oh shit"' on his face
