It honestly doesn’t even make sense mathematically to me at times. The subdivisions and the broader flow seem totally separate, but the sound grooves like butter. Insane.
first came the light, then came the sound, then came the worlds that can never slow down then came the people with problems and hope, that don’t mean a thing if they just knew the scope ✨
Been a fan since 92' whenever I get down and depressed and my world looks dark I put on some phish and all my worry seems to drift away thank you God for phish
You guys gave me a reason to keep going on several times in my life when I was at my lowest. I'm so grateful new music is still being made! I'm sure what Phish has done for me has been done for others in the past, and future!
I paused a moment once in time Before the sun began to shine To weigh the choice I had to make And therein lies my first mistake My second came just after that To keep the solar discus flat And make the planets scurry round The math required was quite profound And now it's mountains, streams, and plains Ten thousand creatures, none the same A million little things to solve Or not I'll let them all evolve First came the light, then came the sound Then came the worlds that can never slow down Then came the people with problems and hope That don't mean a thing, if they just knew the scope
I have been in love with this song since Trey released that cute little video during lockdown. My family knows the words because I sing it so much. I apologize to my neighbors in advance when I finally get my debut. Don Hart’s string arrangement elevates this song to another level. And can we please give it up for Scott Herman, the unsung hero of the songwriting trio.
Jon has this slight delay on the cymbal that just grabs my attention and pulls me into the next beat. So much detail being revealed in each repeated listening.
Literally in the first second we get that deep resonant tom drum, which doesn't show up again until 3:07, then again in glorious fills with its fellow toms at 3:36 and 3:50. I think that's what sparks my earworm at the start of this song - a hint of those moments you know are just a few minutes away, uncontrollably drawn towards them by the cymbals. Such a good earworm.
One of my favorites from Lonely Trip, I always enjoy hearing solo project material get the full band treatment. Can’t wait to hear the rest of the album.
This song blew my mind when I heard it for the first time live at Dick’s last summer. The partly cloudy, moonlit sky, the fans, the extended encore….it was just perfect.
Hell YES! 🎉❤🫡 Thank you!! Trey's voice really shines in this song. I've listened to it about 178X on Amazon Music. Thought I'd drop over here to say hi. 👋 See you all this summer. ✌️ Play this at every dam show this summer who cares about repeats!!
They have already played Evolve live, and many new songs like Pillow Jets, Monsters, Oblivion, etc. I’m pretty sure these are the songs for the new album.
Most listened to off lonely trip and the six song encore at dicks this song just reminded us freaks howling under the moon that we all were kids who once loved dinosaurs. Really needed that in that moment so thanks Phish, and I’m way too excited for any announcement so.. here’s to Sphere and this album. Cheers all
This is a great song. I love it. It's basically Water In The Sky though, especially live. I also love Water In The Sky. Like a lot. Loved it circa 97, and especially loved it since that Europe 98 reworking.
If this was the only Phish song you had ever heard you might not realize how weird their music can be. You also might not realize that this virtuosic jam band is an historically electrifying live act. This song is radio-friendly by Phish standards.
Yes. Preach on my brothas. So much love for you and your evolution from nonsense lyrics to super meaningful spiritual messages. 🤟🏼I am with you through it all. To evolve. Glad for this Pham. 💛
Definitely possible it could have been done by the same team, hypnosis I believe, but spelled differently. Responsible for countless classic album covers.🤘
This song was first cut on Trey’s solo album Lonely Trip. I prefer that version to this, but love how Phish plays this live. TAB also crushes it. Great song!
Classic phish but different in a way. Singing voices are appealing, soft and smooth. Bass, piano, drums, violin (I think), perfectly orchestrated for an uplifting feel good vibe. Meaningful lyrics. Well done boys.
I was at the listening booth at the local mall...they were playing a picture of nectar...I said who is this ...they said Phish ...been a fan for over 20 years..
Interesting. I've been fascinated with importance of scope to our understanding of the universe for years. What a great perspective Phish put on it. Thanks!
God I absolutely love these 4 musicians. Hands down my favorite band in life, hands down. No other bands really come close to how much I've listened to them. Love Pillow Jets and had a mini meltdown when they played it in Dayton last October. That said this ain't it. Kinda derivative, sounds like several other Phish tunes in ways. However beyond excited for the new record and will always be forever grateful for their efforts. I mentioned PJ to show I don't hate all the new music lol. Definitely prefer 1.0 but would never disregard the rest of their careers. Sorry to ramble y'all.😂✌️
I came here looking for this. I was like, wait that box is moving. No it’s not. The shadow looks longer. Does it?? No. Yes!! Classic phish. Perfectly and subtle trippiness
