Those that were there know. Y2K in Florida was the end of my journey. I wanted to go to a MSG show this year. 425$ 1997,8,9 22.50. I don't think the guys are upcharging their retirement, but some things always go up. 600% increase. Yeah, no
This was the favorite Tweezer of comedian Harris Wittels (writer on Parks and Rec and Master of None), who died last year. Here's how he described this jam in an article for Relix: "play a killer “Tweezer” with a thick, gooey funk jam (and if you don’t like “Tweezer,” you are a piece of human garbage). I would recommend perhaps 6/24/00. Fish maintains such a delicious funk beat in this song for the whole time that I am convinced he is a robot every time I hear it. But then, I see photos of that show where he got naked and ran around the stage and am reminded he is a man-either that or the engineers who created him make incredibly accurate human penises." Thick, gooey funk jam indeed. You'll be missed, Harris.
I was there!!! My 2nd Tweezer. Absolutely loved this show Set 1 is the heat. Extra funky Moma Dance opener. Underrated show IMO. I love this band!! #GOAT
I didn’t jump on the train til 7/16/99 - then Nassau in the fall - big cypress was my third show 😊 most of summer 2000 tour starting in Atlanta (skipped Canada + Nashville) & a couple fall dates…love to hear someone say this
This was a couple days after my 18th birthday. I had been seeing them since summer 97 (Raleigh first show) . Did all the southeast shows from 97-00plus big cypress plus some deer creek but that summer after high schoool in 2000 i did a big chunk of tour. This was the 3rd show of this tour i think. I skipped the first night which i regret. To this day in Tennessee adn stayed home in Atlanta to start my tour there. This was the first tour i was really understanding a lot more of what was going on. I was trained classicallly in music and jazz but this tour and especially night 1 Atlanta and then this tweezer stand out to me as really progressing and graduating in my life to a bigger understanding. By the time we got to deer creek i felt like a pro. Anyways, absolutely love this tweezer. I feel blessed to have seen this band back then but also feel like i got shorted just when i was really fully comprehending all the nuances and time signaures
My wife and I did this two-night run, this show was TOPS. We've maintained since that Mike was "Thumpasaurus Rex" on this Tweezer, undeniably the dopest Mike bass jamz in any Tweezer we've seen. The sound quality on this version here is amazing btw I know of no better sounding copy of this show...
I remember being on the lawn during this jam and in this group of pholks we were chanting ‘why don’t u step in to the freezer’ like over and over. Lakewood was lit!!! Haha
I read somewhere it was an iTunes bonus track but I can't find any more info, all of the compilations ppl put out there with the bonus tracks don't have this so I don't know where my dude got this one
i was there. worst tweezer i ever experienced in my life!! hits of acid were 25 dollars wooks trying to sell me shit every step i took. went back to the hotel smoke a b pack fell asleep.
