So true, it unlocked the show's potential. Ross and Rachel's romance was very intense and distracted from the jokes, whereas Chandler and Monica's became a huge source of jokes

Crazy to think it was just meant to be a one-off funny London thing. It was the audience's reaction to the bed reveal that made them think they might actually be on to something and kept it going. Luckily they did because them hiding their relationship made for the best season of friends, and their best couple!

The focus was finally on the whole group/six of them. All those seasons from that moment on were awesome. The show went from good to Iconic/legendary with the Monica/Chandler couple.

@Alan James I somewhat disagree. It definitely was getting stale and got a jumpstart in Season 8. However, the Monica and Chandler storyline is Season 5 made for some of the best written episodes of the series. Everyone still agrees that "The One Where Everyone Finds Out" was the best episode of the series.

This story arc saved the show. It added at least 3 more years to the show. Without it, the Ross-Rachel thing would have worn out and ended the series. And no one would care enough for a reunion show.

You know it just fascinates me how much trust Monica is showing in her friends right now... This was *one of* the best scenes on the show for multiple reasons!! - Chandler and Monica still trying desperately to keep their relationship hidden - Rachel and Pheobe trying break the silence - The added mini moments of Monica (Staying true to her form of) cleaning the guys bathroom and classic Joey popping Pheobe’s shirt open - And the level of awkwardness between Pheobs and The Chan-Chan-Man is absolutely chilling… all culminating in the grand finale of - Chandler professing his love for Monica.

The reunion was a mixed emotion. Extremely Nostalgic and fun. The revelation that Ross and Rachel had crush on each other for real was an icing on the cake. Very heartfelt reunion. In our minds we want them to stay forever young, sad to see them all age. Oddly Ross has aged the least even though he’s one of the oldest. @@kooldude3487 I could tell Jen and Courtney had it but Lisa looks exactly like she was in Season 10 of Friends, just with a few barely noticeable wrinkles. Did she have surgery too? BTW, I'd be surprised if she did because unlike others, she decided to do producing to stay in the industry so she didn't have to get plastic surgery.

@Alan James Maybe Schwimmer but not Perry or LeBlanc from what I know. I in fact, searched for a few shows that the two did after Friends and tried watching them. I watched a show called 'The Odd Couple ' starring Mathew Perry which was a disaster and 'The Man With a Plan' starring Matt LeBlanc which wasn't bad but it wasn't successful considering it got canceled.

One of the best scenes in a series ever. Matthew Perry always seemed underrated. Such a talent. And such a shame he fought the legacy he'd made with Friends until much later in his life. He even admitted it. The entire cast was brilliant in their own way, but Matthew's timing, phrasing, and awkward softness made him relatable and dreamy all at once. A life ended much too soon. Sending warm thoughts and prayers to his beloved cast mates, friends, and family!
