Our yacht, Phoenix, is a marine ply construction Maurice Griffiths Eventide 26, built in 1977 by Louw and Halverson. Right now, she's out of the water and we are doing a full refit, removing rotten wood and making use of Aerontec Epoxy and fresh marine ply and timber. The plan is to use her to do sailing lessons and charters out of Port St. Francis. It's a slow process and when I remember, I setup a camera to take a time lapse to document the process. Today we (My father-in-law, Bokkie, and myself) managed to cut and fit some fresh beams on port and starboard side of the hull. Rain water that got into the wood through poorly installed and repaired stanchion mounts has caused rot in several places. Most of the problem areas had polyurethane glass and fiber slapped over the wood.
