I'm curious to know if you like to learn your preference for future content. Do you like this long in depth format? Do you prefer short condensed videos? Or would you like to see long format unedited live streams? Thank you!

Love the long in depth videos! There's so much small tips and tricks you miss out on when condensing it to a small video. Like your use of the protractor, super useful! Plus, longer videos are completely relaxing, like a guided meditation 😄. At least that's the effect it has on me, watching woodworking videos after an exhaustive day in the office. It's great to see you're back into building guitars, looking great and clearly having fun! 👍

A trick to use when putting multi page plans together is to do them on your refrigerator using magnets. hold them in each corner and in the center. This allows you to easily slide them around to align them before taping the seams where the pages meet. I used to do this when putting plans together for foam bard remote control air planes. Super simple where you can sit in a chair and relax AND as a bonus snacks are close enough you never have to leave the chair!

Daniel, you've got a window! tape your paper templates onto the window first. The back lighting is perfect for checking the alignment marks overlap. I'll be honest - i have a window too and sometimes forget to use it for this. You asked about the format - long form is hard to keep engaging the whole way through. I was streaming guitar building on twitch for a year (so i'm not an expert but have some experience to draw on) and i really struggled to make it interesting live. Some bits just aren't as interesting as others. The streamers i follow tend to have a couple of projects going at the same time and they'll show some interesting steps live but also show off some work they've done off stream (no one wants to watch an hour of sanding, do they?). It's a good balance of showing realtime process and skipping past the boring stuff. I'm pleased to see more content from you in any case.

Hey, Look around and inquire at your local print/office shops for large format printing. I just found out that a local big box office store can scan my A0 plans for just $2.50 aud , and they print an A0 copy for just $6.50aud (which is like 4 euros) . I used to print them out using the poster method shown here , but for 4euros , i think it speeds up the process and you dont have to worry about lining everything up perfectly 😊 cheers !

@UnquendorGuitars

I believe I used a 12mm wide blade, but I'm not entirely sure. I would recommend using a 10 or 6mm (1/4") blade for the body template. It makes the turns go much easier.

@UnquendorGuitars 2 месяца назад
Hi @mikeivey8471, Thank you very much. Unquendor is neo-Quenya for "Hollow Land", and is a translation of the often perceived etymology of Holland, "Hollow land". The official phonetic spelling of "Unquendor" is: /ʌnˈkwɛndɔr/ Here is the breakdown: - /ʌ/ as in "cut" - /n/ as in "not" - /ˈk/ as in "cat" (the primary stress is on this syllable) - /w/ as in "win" - /ɛ/ as in "bed" - /n/ as in "not" - /d/ as in "dog" - /ɔr/ as in "or" It's commonly pronounced as follows: "Un" - as in "under" "quen" - as in quench "dor" - as in corridor Hope this helps

Hi Daniel, Nice to see that you are back ;) but how thick is your Template? (i got a router bit with a bearing on it (30mm = 5mm Bearing and 25mm cutting length) but when i set my router to the lowest position possible then my bearing is almost flush with the bottom plate (i would need a 5mm template to route when i set my bit on the K-mark for Pickup Cavities) and that makes me curious, do i have to set the bit 5mm under the K-mark? or do i need a bit with a longer shaft? or do i really have to use a 5mm template? (which doesn't seem very stable to me and if i can i would like to use a 10mm template)
@UnquendorGuitars
@UnquendorGuitars Месяц назад
My templates are 9mm thick. I'm not sure what you mean with "K-mark", but sometimes router bits are indeed too short reach the required depth. The safest option is to route the cavity as deep as you can with the template and the router bit and when you need to go deeper, remove the template. The bearing can now follow the edge/sides of the cavity you just routed to the final depth.
@meteorsouldennis3676
@meteorsouldennis3676 Месяц назад
@@UnquendorGuitars thanks a lot Daniel, I'm going to make a new template but this time 10mm (I already made one but 18mm thick) The "K mark" is the "preferred" depth for set a bit up, it's the way the company likes it to do but in the instructions papers stands that I need at least 20mm inside my router (at minimum 20mm of the bit shaft under the nut to fix the router, but I asked because I am afraid of doing so, 20.000Rpm are scary as hell and especially if a rotating piece of steel could break and penetrate my body like butter... ) I have not that much experience with a router and I simply would like to know if it's save to do, because the bit instruction papers mentioned that I can do it or if I shouldn't 😅
