Each year they gather for the Phoenix Scottish Games and Festival and celebrate the sights, sounds, food, games and colors of the many who share in this historic background. What? No haggis? I love Celtic festivals and highland games and spent several years vending at them from South Carolina north through upstate New York. There's nothing like standing in the middle of massed pipes and drums when they go off! The earth moves!

I’m definitely excited whenever I see you participating in things I think it’s important for us to teach kiddos to value things and also to respect tradition sometimes. I think that for us to make better human beings we should participate outdoors instead of always being inside and doing things like this are definitely a great way to start off, right

Very cool festival! I have Scottish somewhere in my heritage too. I went to a Scottish wedding of one of my friends and they all wore the kilts and traditional dressings. It was one of the coolest most unique weddings I’ve ever been too. Have fun Bunny & Brock! The food looks great!

Very cool! This was the first Scottish festival that I’ve been to. It was very neat. I have been to a German festival before and of course I’ve been to several Renfaire’s, but this one was really cool.

hey Bunny , just stoping by to wish you a Happy Birthday and hope it was a good one . Thank you Riley for letting us know it was Bunnys birthday . really enjoyed this scottish festival ive never been to one so it was interesting to watch on here. i guess i should embrace my heritage a little more and find out more about where in scotland my ansestors came from. ive made something sinular to the sausage roll before but it looked more like a stuffed bun.lol still yummy tho, have fun keep traveling.🚐🏜🎂🎁🎉

This was an awesome video. Tuff to listen to the bagpipes but i did it out just for you Bunny. 😊 When my mother passed away they played bagpipes and i have been able to listen to them sense. But I absolutely love the sound and they are such a mysterious instrument.

We have a Celtic Heritage and Games near me (Oregon). I haven't attended for a while because it's in August and way too hot for me. It is quite the festival though. It is good to see so many women pipers, that's fairly new. The community college I worked at has a piper as part of the commencement every year. I'm guessing, but I think it was at lease ten years that it has been a young woman. If you are thinking about the Pacific Northwest again this summer and are interested I will send you some info.

I’ve gone to the Highland Games at Seaside Park in Ventura, CA. Fun! Were you able to find your clan? Did they have Welsch Cakes? Super yummy and often at Highland Games. I hope you’re having a great birthday!

I actually compete in the games! Looks like you were there on Sunday. I competed Saturday in the men’s lightweight division. I’m the smallest person on the field so far. 😂 I think at 4:28 into your video is a guy named Rich Wales. I met him the day before and it was his first time competing so I’m glad you go video of him! He said I inspired him to compete and that meant a lot to me.

Mince pie ( referred to as a Scotch pie - shaped like a snare drum ), Bridies ( a pasty made of flaky pastry with onion, beef and gravy filling )and a take on plain steak pies are Scottish. You ate no Scottish food. All you ate are actually English; as-is the small kilt. Comes from Lancashire.

American, Scottish, Irish and English flags side by side. They don't always get along. Especially the English and Irish. Other than the Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, and race cars made by McLaren and Lotus, The Austin Mini Cooper is the only good car made in England. They were prized as extremely nimble and of course got great gas mileage. They are now collectors cars. The current "Mini" made by BMW bears no resemblance. Bring on the hate. For a meat pie I like the Shepard's Pie sold at Trader Joes. Shredded beef in mashed potatoes in a pie shell. Just pop it into the micro to heat then the toaster over for a golden crust and it'll warm your innards. The yellow Triumph TR6 isn't bad either if you want an open top racer. With some hopping-up they are very impressive on the track. Doesn't look like a lot for the vegan crowd there.

this is awesome, im wondering though, why are there women marching and in the games, the main pointis to represent the historical culture and the strength in war, women werent in war, it seems to be culturally misrepresentation to have women participating in the games and marching with bagpipes

Culture is something that has passed down from generation to generation and appreciated. It is not for us to tell people that they cannot appreciate their own culture. I think it’s wonderful that the women are involved because the women have historically been the storytellers that have been wiped out of many of the stories by having to take male pen names. Seeing these women portraying these skills and talking about the culture is a full circle moment and I appreciate it
