Phoenix Wright Defends Hank in Court After the Events of Madness Combat 1 

ON THE EDGE OF MY SEAT, I WAS!

Imagine this was canon and the reason that Nevada plunged into darkness is because some lawyer made people believe it was scripted.

I was expecting Hank at the end to admit killing the people and having fun while doing it after Wright's victory

With all the twists and Wright stalling, this feels just like an actual Ace Attorney case

Fun enough, this could be canon just by the fact that this don't interrupt or alter in anything before and after the events of Madness Combat 1.

I love how incredibly in character everyone was in this, you even got Edgeworth's “NGHOOOOOOH!”

Judge: "Is the defendant even... Human?" Hank: "Even I don't fucking know anymore."

"Thirty People?!?!" "Thirty Two, counting the zombies"

Wright: See he was innocent **somewhere in nevada** Hank: Oh boy here I go killing again

I can't be the only who thinks that whenever Hank got guilty he'll go "Fuck you guys i'm killing you all."

(VIDEO SPOILERS AHEAD) For those who didn’t catch it, I’ll explain the “plot” of the video: After Madness Combat 1, The Sheriff, trying to get Hank behind bars by any means necessary, ordered an immediate trial and only sent one piece of evidence to the prosecution: a camera which captured Hank’s murders. Thinking this would be a guaranteed conviction, The Sheriff forced the trial to end in just one session. However, because Phoenix is so good (or just lucky...) at his job, he was able to get Hank off the hook. In this Cany-fied universe, Hank isn’t an actor and there wasn’t a movie being filmed. He’s still just an absolutely murderous psychopath and he still had fun annihilating everybody in the park, just as the canon MC1 animation shows. Phoenix just homed in on the small details and was able to sway the judge to his side as a result. After learning of The Sheriff’s setup during the trial, Hank decides to take some personal revenge, leading directly into Madness Combat 2. This video is meant to be a possible “Madness Combat 1.5” of sorts, explaining one of the reasons Hank wanted The Sheriff dead so badly. *edit: alternatively, as pointed out below, you can see it as Wright’s theory being 100% correct and Hank was just participating in a movie shoot, but The Sheriff tried to get Hank imprisoned over the movie anyways since it looks so real. This actually makes more sense since it explains the lack of blood.*

The fact that the way Wright's and Edgeworth's dialogue was scripted is like NEAR-IDENTICAL to how it is in the actual game impresses me a lot.

After the event of this incident, Hank sent A fuckton of money to Wright with a letter "Escape from Nevada" for his success on helping Hank dimissing the court trial. Edit: Holy shit I really thought this comment is going to be buried in the tomb of cringe, guess people appreciate my sense of humor. Edit: 1K MY FUCKING GOD THATS HIGH ! Moral of the story: Hank shouldn't always be trusted near... Well anybody or anything.

I haven´t laughed unironically in a long time, but was fucking gold the execution and the dialogues were so fit to the characters it was surprising, like and sub for the amazing video

Hank is clearly guilty because he shot an innocent bystander, no excuse for that.

After hank has realized that the sheriff snitched on him, he went to hunt him down

Edgeworth: thinks Hank had no motive Hank: literally killed 30+ people because somebody was hogging the boombox

The Music was too loud, so I decided to try and talk to the guy but the Grunt just pushed me to the ground. And so, I decided to defend myself. It was all a misunderstanding guys!

Turnabout Madness. PS: I love how Hank doesn't even react at the video, but a sweatdrop would've been nice.

Ironic that the Sheriff's haste to incarcerate Hank was exactly what set him free, if the Sheriff had just left the case alone then they would have completed an investigation and confirmed that the video was indeed not a movie, and then it would have actually been an open and shut case, but instead the Sheriff's impatience was his undoing and he's the reason all of this happened. The only question now is how exactly did they get Hank into the courtroom in the first place

I’m thankful to see a Pheonix Wright video that actually uses the characters actually personalities and isn’t just a Twitter argument.

This actually makes a lot of sense in the greater canon of Madness. After all, why would Hank go after the Sheriff for no reason? Maybe it didn't quite go like this, but it could explain a few things.

Hold on. I just had a thought. So in Madness Combat 2: Redeemer, Hank is trying to kill the Sherriff for an unknown reason, right? it is now my personal headcanon that after finding out that the Sherriff is the one who ordered the trial for him (and managed to get out of), it became Hank's goal to punish him for it

When Hank did the "(!!!)" Thing I imagined him doing a really high pitched yet somewhat quiet gasp, and that made it so much better

This trial was held in Nevada, meaning that all of the people in this courtroom were prob victims of everything that happened in madness combat 2 to 9.5

There we’re actually TWO survivors, the dancing background guy was so strong that not even Hank tried to kill him and he just let him vibe

They should've mentioned the 2nd others. But therefore, I guess this takes place before MC2 and MC3.

I like to think this is canon, because after the case hank might've gone after the sheriff for getting him put on trial kicking off the events for the entire rest of the series.
