That's an interesting combo. A kit lens from a D3000 on a Leica! You made a lot of interesting pictures. I like the Smith Brothers Grocery building a lot.

Liked the part where you showed the original I-beams that had been bent on the store front. Nice walk, neat pictures.

I am picking up Carl Zeiss Nikon F Mount lenses and they are wonderful. Lot of character. 55mm, 50mm Planar makro and now have the 135mm and they work great with the Leica L and M. My Philosophy about Adapters if You bought a camera but do not have any Native lens to go with it, to save cost get the adapter and use the lenses in Your possession and have fun. Cheers!

Thanks for the video David. I enjoy your walks around these out of the way paces, and full marks for taking a kit lens. I rate my Canon 18-55, and my 55-250 is STM very highly.

I like this Pholsy version better than the previous one. I am playing with the K&F Concept M42 to Nikon Z, Sony E and Leica L plus the Techart Autofocus TZM-02 Adapter for Leica M lenses that are manual focusing lenses to Nikon Z cameras the ability to autofocus. I own the Voigtlander Ultron 35mm and Heliar Classic 75mm plus the Leica APO - Summicron 90mm and they are fast to autofocus. If they are off a little bit then I use the manual focus to get it just right. The one lens that is M42 Mir 1 37mm f/2.8 is sharp and the Bokeh has a swirly circle around the center which is awesome. Family Reunion today. Lot of Pics to be taken. Cheers!

I have the 18-55vr and additionally the 55-200vr. I used both of them on my D500 when I want to mix it up a little and have some fun with photography. I am considering the Nikon 10-24Dx lens to round out this selection of lenses then using them on a Nikon D7100 for a light weight Landscape/Travel/Street Photography rig.

I believe I have one Zoom Lens that if I have the camera pointing down will slide out of position. I own a few Zooms and more Prime Lenses which makes everything much easier. Cheers!

Moved out to a small town a decade ago, still work in big city of Dallas, TX. Almost bought an old building on our main street. Our old downtown has buildings all connected on both sides, really cool looking since they maintained original look for the most part. Urban sprawl heading our way and real estate prices just stupid high now. Yes, highway was built that bypassed old downtown here as well. We've given away a couple sets of G-lenses over the years to budding photographers. I went to the gear cabinet to see if we still had that lens, I have (2) of those lenses but in the P version made after 2016 that I had bought for a starter lens to go with some cameras we were giving away. The problem is that the new AF-P autofocus motor system only works on camera models originally introduced since about 2013. If your camera is too old, the focus system, even in manual mode, won't work at all, making the lens completely useless with no workaround, this according to Ken Rockwell when I researched why I was having issues. The P version is supposed to be better than original, did a quick test on my ZF. Took off the 40mm F2 and put on an FTZ adapter and this old lens was quick to auto focus and sharp. Good street lens I would imagine. Funny, on the first FTZ I grabbed it needed a firmware update to work so had to grab another one...really?! David, if you or anyone is interested let me know & I'll pass it on for free. Not much demand I realize, lens is a DX in mint condition...good little lens.

Those little lenses are great! I used one for several years that I bought used for $70..

I always wonder how long before these small towns start to disappear into the dust. Nice video David.

Whitwell looks like a ghost town now,like so many small towns in the south...in the old part of town anyway...so sad
