PHONE as a WEBCAM using HDMI (Step-by-step How To Guide) 

DUDE!!! This is EXACTLY what I needed to figure out. I can’t afford a DSLR, and I don’t want to freaking record the video on my phone, and then record the audio on my PC and then have to sync it in post. I’m not a streamer but I do live stream sometimes, and I could not figure out how to use my phones camera to record on my PC without SERIOUSLY diminishing the video quality. This is such a huge help. Thanks man. I’m building a new PC this week, and I was thinking dammit man I really can’t afford a nice camera. I gotta figure out how to use my phone and still capture quality videos. This thing can shoot in 4K so why tf does it look like trash even when I’m using a wired connection. I’m so happy right now bc once I get all this set up it’s going to change my video quality tremendously.

Is there something besides filmic pro that can get rid of the buttons?

I have a Galaxy S20 Ultra and filmic pro just crashes after 3 minutes when using clean hdmi out. Wish this worked.

Bro do you have discord? I literally need help I have everything and it's not working I have the s24 ultra a USBC to HDMI cable the HD60S capture card and a HDMI to HDMI for the computer I don't understand nothing is working

I use a much cheaper capture card and it at least does 720p60, which I think is adequate. If you're a new creator no-one is gonna be pixel-peeping your videos.

just did a video on this myself, bit different to yous as under 10aud to do, but im curious as im after a new phone or rather saving up and want something cheap, issue im running into is tablets and phone stopped supporting this alt mode hdmi. its a rabbit hole finding out what supports this, seems Samsung s flag ships the only safe one with it 100? an idea on information of what supports it. be nothing worse than buying a oppo phone and you cant return it when you want this feature
