In the newest episode of modified tile bag Scrabble, tiles are worth their location on a phone keypad! With U's worth 8 and S's worth 7, we're sure to DIAL up some big scores. Will we CALL Mack or Quackle the champ? Watching should be NUMBER one on your priority list!

holy crap, i can't believe you calculated that all out and then it actually had DIAGNOSE and all your calculations were correct! How rewarding.

What a phenomenal game! The rare Q blank, and then the bot actually hitting DIAGNOSE, cool stuff. EDIT: If I did the math right, there was an ~1.01% chance of DIAGNOSE coming down at the end

It would be so funny if in one of these modified scrabble games, the bot scores 2000 points in a move and Mack replies "That's a ton of points!" 😂

Silicon is what all computer chips are made from, and all phone chips as well. It was funny to hear you associate it with iPhones specifically. Thanks for the game!

Ah, I think I wasn't sure it was all phone chips -- I googled it and the first thing I saw was an article either from Apple or about Apple products specifically, so I just went with that haha. Nothing against Androids!

Is it possible to change to score for a bingo? I feel that in these games where the tiles are worth so much more, the score for a bingo should correspondingly increase.

Idea: a variant where 8-letter bingos are worth an extra ~15 points and where 9-letter bingos are worth an extra ~30 points. (Fiddle around with the numbers, I'm just bringing up random numbers that seem reasonable enough at a first glance.)

This would be way cooler if you had tiles 2-9 and each tile stood for the letters on the phone pad for this digit.

30:35 I was googling PAUIIN (two "eye"s) for ages, getting no results. What is that? It looks so weird. Eventually realised it's actually PAULIN with a lowercase L. That makes more sense 😅

How come Quackle never goes first?

The default setting in Quackle is that the human always goes first, so if Quackle is kind enough to concede such an advantage, I'm not gonna say no to it! :D

Hi Mack, how do I calculate static leave values for letters with arbitrary point value and amount in bag? Is there a setting in Quackle or Zyzzyva that does this?

Hmm, good question -- I'm honestly not sure there's a simple way to do this. I believe the static leave values for the main dictionaries were calculated by running millions of computer vs. computer games and pulling data from those, which is a pretty intensive process, so probably wouldn't be feasible to just do for every new tile set

nice game! would be really cool to see a video where the board is inverted, with every square thats normally empty becomes a bonus square, and every square thats normally a bonus is empty. could be another really high scoring game!

Hmm... I went in on multiple devices and seems to be working? Maybe you have the mute button selected on playback? The sound might be slightly lower quality (this is one of my older videos from before I got a new mic), but it should work
