Being on an exposed barge with jungle all around you had to have been a nightmare to deal with plus doing DOUBLE duty in a war zone. That dude was a STUD. Nice job in doing your due diligence. I think my favorite videos you do are legit seals being verified. I still remember that Italian SEAL from the cover of "Soldier of Fortune" that could barely speak English. This and that one are my two favorite videos of yours. Just beautiful to watch and hear their stories. Much respect, you all are true bad asses.

As a former Marine I have to give much love to Navy Corpsman. They went to the field with us, on ops and deployments with us, PT'd with us and they did everything that we did. they didn't just change band aids !!! Ohhh Rahhhh to all you Navy Corpsman

It is encouraging to hear about the legit cases. I was regular army 72-75 (armored cav and straight armor). Then I went to OCS in the Army National Guard and became a cav officer in 85. I was never tested in combat. Many of the men who were role models to me were fresh out of Viet Nam. To this day I still dream about my tank commander, Big Will. A true warrior! Older now, I know that I was never made of the stuff you and Max are made of. You are doing a great service to the country even in retirement. You continue to reflect those core values which define a SEAL and inspire us all to do better as men. Also, your personality makes the presentations entertaining and interesting. Keep up the good work!

"Boy I'm glad I didn't call him a phony." Holy hell is that right. Now we need to put the pressure on Jocko to have that legend Max Morgan (aka Max Green) on his podcast, as well as of course, the legend Don himself one of these days.

As a current member stationed at Camp living room assigned to 1st Force recline it took me years becoming a remote control operator.

Don is dedicated. He srutinizes phony SEALs more than putting on his own boots..

My mother divorced and remarried by the time I was two. I went by my step-father's name. When I went into to the Army they sent me for a security clearance to be in ASA (Army Security Agency). I found myself in the brig being questioned as to who I really was. No one by my name had ever been born on my birth date. This was in 1970 and the cold war was raging. My father flew to my post and talked to the people who had me locked up. As he worked at the National Security Agency, and was a Korean War veteran, he pulled a lot of weight in the security community. I was given the option of using my birth name or I could go to court and get a legal name change. I chose the second option. It just goes to show you what can go wrong (or right if I had not been an American) with the military. Thank Heavens Don does his homework before outing someone. The class I was yanked out of to deal with this nick named me "Comrade". I was known as Comrade till the day I ETS'd. Hellofa name for someone holding a TS/SCI clearance.

These men did not just serve their country, they served for humanity. Thank you for your service.

Genuine, real and so beautiful to see. As a Vietnam combat decorated veteran I love anything showing respect to our veterans. If you know Kirby Horrell, I would love to reconnect with him.

My grandfather was a POW in Vietnam. He never talked about it. He let his DD214 speak for him and we came across a lot of amazing things after he passed. I can’t help but wonder if this guy was one of the reasons I even got to meet my grandfather to begin with. Because my grandfather said so little about those days, I learned about much of his career through my own research and papers found in a special box. Given the small number of ACTUAL SEALs in Vietnam, odds are that my family owes him a thank you, and a big one at that. Thank You for this Senior!

I love all Don's videos, but I think this is one of my favorites. The guy that was almost exposed as a phony, when in fact he was the furthest thing from it. I commend both Don and Max for their service. Thank you, gentlemen.

The toughness, integrity, and service of these people is inspiring.

My uncle Alton Willeford was a Navy corpsman in Vietnam. He enlisted to avoid the draft and then thinking that he would be assigned to a ship, he became a medic. Boy, was he ever wrong. He was assigned to the Marines and ended up with, I believe, three Purple Hearts. He always wore a shirt, even at the beach. He didn’t talk about it much but he did say that shrapnel was pretty bad. Also that he learned real quick not to wear the medical cross because it was a target. A very good man who is now with the angels.

Don, your wife and yourself are an inspiration to all of us who have served honorably, im a combat vet, I did my time but I do not have alot of insane stories, it just wasn't in the cards, when I came home I felt like I hadn't done enough but if watching these videos has taught me anything its that I need to be proud that I served honorably, and paying honor to my brothers that never came home is enough! Thanks Don and will you please extend my thanks to your lovely wife aswell, thankyou!

It's super cool to run into guys with the same training. I was pulled over by a Connecticut State Trooper at 2AM as I was passing through. I wasn't speeding but the trooper was just looking for something to do I guess. I had every gun I owned in the back on my van as I was LEGALLY transporting them from my house in Maine to my new home in Pennsylvania. The trooper shined his light through my passenger window and sees a Blue Cord hanging from my rear view mirror. He asked if it was mine. I said "No, that's my sons...but HE has MINE". Turns out the trooper was a Blue Cord Brother and served with 3rd Ranger Battalion! That's all we talked about for half an hour! He said it's rare, but meeting guys like me on the job is very rewarding

Hi don happy Saturday

Having some deep thoughts on this one. I started with "It's a shame there is more phonies than real" and this goes with many things in life. The more people lie about things the harder it becomes for the people being honest and this guy was one of the honest ones so Don had to do his due diligence and go through some hard work to verify. Imagine if Don just relied on his database and "Computer says no"! how many people have been hit with that in their lives? So we should praise Don for being a professional and passionate with this calling. Imagine what this is like for other agencies like the VA, benefits and non-profit organisations that help people. The more fakers the harder the paperwork honest people have to go through, the harder the paperwork the more complaints honest people submit and hardships they have to go through to get verified because they may face that one dude who just says "Computer says no" because they are either overworked with applications and have to be quick, relying on that computer or they are simply lazy and lost that professional enthusiasm. Told ya's I deep thought this but it's true; Fakers ruin everyone's day.

God bless you and the work you do, Chief. Not many things bring out my emotions but seeing this video brought a tear to my eyes. All my love to veterans all over the world.

The Vietnam era Special Operations history is some of the most fascinating history of warfare. The over the fence guys, Operation Shining Brass, Prairie Fire, and the Bright Light missions. All of those in the thick of it in theater, creating modern-day warfare tactics and then some as they went along. True legends and heroes.

Don, ex British Army here. One thing we both have in common is always man up and admit mistakes. I only did reserves just under 14 years. Left a Cpl although waiting for promotion to Sgt despite passing the course and Plt Commander recommendation. But when I couldn’t maintain the Physical fitness due to my back decided to retire gracefully lol! If I couldn’t lead from the front get out the way I say.

No worries, you did what you do and instead of busting a phony, it turned out to be an introduction to another badass!

When stolen valor goes wrong. There's been quite a few legitimate seals that have been tagged as phony by members of the public. I remember what the community did to Jesse Ventura, if they could do it to that man then I'm not shocked they did it to Max.

When I saw the speech with Trump I thought nah this guys emotion is too real, you can see it in the way he held himself and if he ain’t he’s a damn good actor, one thing about stolen Valour is it’s usually easy to see and hear as most people who have done extraordinary things don’t usually boast about them. On the flip side I like that you’ve shown who he was and what he did, I believe this is something you should do more of, show and celebrate the men who have given for their country instead of highlighting the scum that pretend to be returned heroes.
