Are these events common in America? We don't get anything like this at all in the UK so am interested in this subject :) Did you notice the new lenses announced by Canon today? Are you tempted by any?

Oh yes, Halloween has become a very big deal over here. It was always a thing when I was young, but these days it's HUGE. I won't say it's quite on the same level as Christmas in terms of home decorating, but it's getting close, and some people really go all-out. And there are the so-called "haunt" events, everything from small ones out along forest trails, to larger stand-alone haunts, to the theme parks that have turned it into a big part of their yearly calendar. Like I said in the video, I think Universal's is the best in terms of production quality and variety, but the regional parks tend to be less crowded and therefore more fun and sincere. I just love the creativity involved, and the spooky ambience. :) That new 200-800mm certainly appeals to me, depending on how sharp it turns out to be! f/6.3 at the wide end isn't great, but I'm sure I'd most often be using it at the long end, and f/9 with closer focusing would make me ditch my 800mm f/11. The new 24-105mm f/2.8L is neat, but seems geared more towards video, and it's big and heavy to boot. At this point I wouldn't buy an RF-S lens so the 10-18mm doesn't appeal, but I absolutely want the RF 10-20mm f/4L that's coming out this week--that would replace my 14-35mm f/4L, I think. Then I need to decide whether to also keep the 15-35mm f/2.8L. Decisions!

I'm dreading the announcement of the R5 Mark II, because I am definitely going to want that, and it is definitely going to be expensive! :)

@@wanderland_xyz 🤣 Yes I know the feeling! I'm 99% certain I will buy the 24-105 f4 L shortly as it has both Canon Winter Cashback and Canon Lens Reward discount available. That will be my 2nd RF lens for my R7 - the other being the 14-35 f4 L. BUT I'm still lusting after the R6 Mark2 as well to accompany my R7, but I know if the R5 Mark2 comes out I will surely want that one instead and it's maybe going to be double the price of the R6 Mark2 (guessing)
