It depends on the photocatalyst. Of the photocatalyst can only absorb uv light then only uv light or u can use a solar simulator if the material has the ability to absorb the vis.
It will depend on the dye that you are using. But I recommend you to do a 10 min interval period in order to see how the dye is being degraded. 10min- data 20min-data 30min-data But don't let it sit for too long because then the readings will be hard to see as it would have almost completely degraded.
