On the afternoon of July 29, 2023, weather patterns were suggesting the formation of thunderstorms East of the Front Range in Colorado capable of producing severe weather, including the distinct possibility of landspouts (non supercellular tornadoes). While we did go into the chase with a healthy amount of optimism, what we did not expect was for these storms to not only produce a tornado, but for it to be one of the best of my chasing career.
