Great photographs of what is a personal favourite place, it's wonderful to see the caves photographed so beautifully because it conveys what you experience there. There actually is a more traditional "cave" section of the second cave through a tunnel near the east side of the entrance, but the main chamber works wonderfully for photography.

Have not been down to the caves for a long time, long before I started photography. Seeing your shots has given me the boost to go back down, only thing is I am that wee bit older now, case of could get down but the getting back up....different story. Settle for viewing your great pics

impressed with your 1st attempt at photoblending! they came out very well! would also be nice at night with a campfire to light up the cave with an orange glow, a subject sitting next to the fore and the sky at the entrance filled with stars, maybe with a little light painting too? well done Kim. atb Mark

Kim I use my Rokinon 14mm2.8 lens for astrophotography Sequator is a free astrophotography stacking program that works well for stacking wide angle photographs as well .Your cave photographs are really neat thanks

Nice vlog of one of my favourite places as you know I've spent many hours sitting at the entrance of that second cave. One of my places to get away from modern society, be alone and have time out just watching the sea and sea birds. So glad you liked it hopefully we can go again and get some photos of the sunset and just chill on that secluded beach near by... Take care... X

Beautiful photos yet again Kim. I especially like the one you titled isolation/loneliness. it really shows the immensity of the cave. Are you going to sell copies of that photo? Your description of the cave men living in the cave and taking refuge from the world outside certainly does bring to mind our own isolation from the rest of the world during this COVID-19 pandemic . It is amazing to think how modern man with all this technology, modern hospitals, modern lifestyles can become very humbling because of a tiny microscopic virus from which we don't have a defense . Just "had breakfast with Kim", not one of my better ideas as the breakfast was cooler than I would have liked. I got enveloped in the magic and mystery of her "Caveworld" commentary and images... it was pure joy! I do wish some of the images were of the script on the wall. But hey ho! She's an inspiration. "Inspiration" casts a more positive spin on that "caveman" allusion.

Thank you Alex. Glad you enjoyed my trip into the cave world. A lot of the writing in the wall was graffiti so wanted to eliminate as much of it as I could. There was some cool writing though and some ancient symbols hidden in some areas. May need to go back to photograph this angle 😊

Superb vlog Kim and I felt a very emotional one. The size and scale is put into perspective when you have someone in the shot. The blended shot was beautiful. Mother Nature is a wonderful Mother and us 'humans' should let her take care of of the earth and not destroy what she has built, now I think she has had enough and is fighting back. Great images Kim and successful photo blending. I spent quite a bit of time in lockdown developing and blending old images using luminosity masking to improve my skills. Picked up lots from David Noton tutorials and watching other RU-vidrs - you know the ones Nick & Thomas ........and Mr H.

Kim, This is one of your best! Such a perfect blend of the art of photography and the emotion you experience while creating an image. I too primarily use Lightroom. It would be an interesting video to see how you used Photoshop to blend for us Lightroomers. I know there are many experts out there, but a novice user explaining the process is much more valuable. That was a great first attempt at blending Kim. Have you tried bracketing when you are faced with a high dynamic range? You can usually do all the post processing for that using few simple steps in Lightroom. "Isolation" is a stunner of a shot - definitely competition material. I've had a shoot at the Wemyss Caves in Fife in mind since before lockdown and you've just given me the spur to go and do it, so thanks. Keep up the great work of showing our beautiful country to the world.

Thank you Alasdair. I've tried bracketing a few times and the lightroom feature. I think it works well when the exposure isn't too different but when your faced with massive differences like in the cave (extremes of Shadows and highlights) I often find it looks a bit unnatural. That's ace - I visited Wemyss caves last year but there was signs outside saying keep out, danger etc so we never ventured in. Was quite disappointed as I was really looking forward to seeing them. Maybe there is a few you can enter that I missed. Good luck with your own cave mission.

Great stuff Kim! Funny you mentioned gavin’s video cause I just watched it yesterday catching up on his stuff that I hadn’t watched in a while. Like you I only do LR but I’m about to start using PS so I can focus stack and light blend. Still can’t wait till I can make it over there and meet up with you for some photography.

Glad you enjoyed it and yes - I've been eyeing up that tree for a few years now. The longest focus length I currently have is 70mm but once I invest in a telephoto lens, I will have to shoot it in the future ☺️
