I really like my old Olympus C-350 Zoom. It's one of the first consumer grade point and shoot cameras from the early 2000's and still, the the output under decent light conditions isn't any worse than from an entry level smartphone today. Yes, you can tell from the image, that it was taken with an old camera, because the image has some characteristics, which have been honed over time.

Ik still got an LX-2 and LX-3 but didn’t notice the old camera revival until I bought a 7 year old Fujifilm X-Pro2 6 months ago, fantastic camera! But… I also just purchased spare batteries for my Panasonics 😅

Fun video! I used to own the Lumix equivalent of the D-Lux 4. There is no difference between the two, apart from the fact that you are paying $$$ more for a red Leica logo! The Lumix (LX3?) was a lot of fun, and I got some fantastic snaps with it. But talking of Ricoh, you don't have to have a GR3 as the now ancient GRD4 is almost as brilliant (no, wrong, the GRD4 is actually better, because it is far cheaper and grittier, and because of the tiny sensor, everything is in focus). I now prefer using my GRD4 to my Olympus E-M1 because it is so small and fun to use. It goes everywhere with me.

Hi Niels, nice video. I actually just bought a well loved D Lux 4 for 50 euro. The case is worn a bit and one of the strap-thingies has corroded a bit which I'll try to f strengthen again with two-component adhesive. It definitely needs a new battery as well. Since it definitely is an older model, and many accessories are out of stock, do you recommend some generic accessories for this camera? Straps, cases,...anything really. Thanks a lot in advance! Jerry

That's great! 50 bucks is a nice price, too! I'd buy a third party strap, either a wrist-strap or a neck strap. The D-Lux comes with a lens cap, I would only use it when you put it in your bag, not while shooting. And like you said, some extra batteries and then you are good to go mate!

nice video. 👌 A friend gave me the other day two old super ccd point and shoots. Lumix TZ5 and Fuji FinePix F20. Anyway the two I can already not recommend. lol Super CCD doesn't even come close to looking like film. So I would suggest like you if you want such a camera it should already make better pictures than a smartphone. A GR is actually a much better choice.

because film got too expensive so people are moving from the trendy film cameras and over to old digital cameras and follow the "trend" HAHA XD though i personally love the idea of the flash film snap shot camera - from those disposable cameras - and if there's a digital camera that's like that (fix focus, f8, zone focusing only with flash) could be rather fun - takes a few more steps to do it manually or its too easy to just switch back to auto focus unless I adapt a manual focus lens on my fuji and then shoot zone focus mode.

Digicams are my thing. A few tips. Dont overpay for a Leica D-Lux like the one here. Panasonic actually makes it and It's the exact same camera as the Panasonic Lumix LX3 which can be had for half the price. I have the LX2, 3 and 5. Also, do your homework on the many different models. Narrow it down to a couple brands and then look at the specs for each camera. Dont assume that every Canon Powershot SD is the same, they are not. Look for the models with the larger sensors and better lenses, like the SD500 or 550. Dont just get the model some hipster RU-vidr made a video about and over-pay for an inferior camera. Have fun.

"Photos that are film-like..." I don't think so. There is a huge gap between this camera and the film camera when it comes to the look of the photos. This has nothing to do with the film and everyone who photographed the film knows it. It's just a digital camera with a tiny sensor and a red mark that some people like to pay for, that's all. Nothing more.

Photo’s with a certain aesthetic that people like, the experience of using a camera that is slower and more tactile than current camera’s. Film-like.
