Oh that baby copper tree...with a shard of light. That would be an amazing shot. As it is, still a lovely image and nicely processed to draw the eye to a fabulous subject. In my opinion this type of vlog is not shared enough on YT. The honesty with which you approach the lack of light is great. Don't bemoan it, accept it and take what you can. Very refreshing and a great vlog Steve, a very enjoyable watch.

I sincerely appreciate the kind comments Dave. My ambition is to just present my honest experience... so if that's starting to emerge I feel like I'm at least headed in the right direction. Thank you 🙏

I agree with you, sometimes it's perfect conditions. Sometimes you have to interpret what you've got and create something new.

Yes, I like it to capturing the mood or vibe from a place... mother nature's always so beautiful, it's just our limited human ability for capturing it that's challenging at times. Wonderful to keep trying though 😉🍃🌳🙏 Hope you guys are keeping well ✨

@@StevePikePhoto I am getting by. Having a nature niche really helps to ground and destress haha.

Great work once again mate. That changing light did look really challenging but you seemed to react quick enough, got some lovely images. The one of the tall pines and the leaning tree are my two favs, lovely shots, really like the tones and mood to them both 💪

Nice video Steve in challenging and very changeable conditions. It’s just as interesting to see videos on these types of days as it is when you have epic conditions. Now we are in strict lockdown again it’s going to be difficult to take any images. Even though I’m 3 minutes in the car from Ashdown Forest, I’m noticing the car parks are still rammed so I’m not going to add to the volume. Such a shame as yesterday saw the best conditions since we moved here.

Thanks Julian, much appreciated 👌 Yeah I'm really keen to share the 'reality' of the woodland, especially for anyone just getting into photography - it can be so overwhelming can't it. Plus if conditions aren't great that's when I tend to get into 'trouble' 😉 jumping fences I perhaps shouldn't.. so it may make up for fewer images with a little lite comedy at times. Yeah this lack of clarity surrounding what is a fair distance from home is rather poor I think. If this 'vague' guidance is by design then it's meant to perhaps ratchet up the fear factor a notch.. which we could argue is needed right now. Personally though, rather than this kind of cloaked 'management' I'd much rather have clear honest guidance & the Police given stricter powers for breaches... maybe that will come? I do get the sense that some people think because their outdoors, their safe though. Little huddles of unmasked strangers chatting, quite a common site here 🙄 Personally I'm quite fortunate to have two woods on my doorstep that I can sensibly visit. But their busier than normal because people are being fed into a bottle-neck of 'local'... wisest move is perhaps break out a set of extension tubes & stay indoors a little while. What I did this week was drive a short distance to a remote lay-by. Drop the car & go crawling through the thick undergrowth.. nobody is likely to follow & I literally only heard a distant dog bark, didn't see a soul. Fingers crossed this is the last of the tight restrictions though.. 🙏👍 ..I agree, such a shame when we can't make the most of lovely conditions 😌 I'm looking forward to day camps in the woods, fresh coffee brewing & a dawn till dusk shoot again.. been over a year since I enjoyed that..

@@StevePikePhoto crazy times, over Christmas when down here we were already in tier 4, I was returning to my car and in the car park a family of around 10 were meeting up from various cars, grandparents, parents and grand children, no social distancing, could hear them comment on their journey etc. I still think many people don’t think it will impact them. Judging by the way things are heading I think we’re heading for even stricter measures

@@julianheritage6436 yeah crazy times indeed mate 😌 I hope for the best but fear tighter restrictions and the repercussions of stricter enforcement policy.. Humans eh? 🙄
