That woman who had been visiting him was kind of an idiot. She would sit there and smile at him nonstop for hours, which is seen as super threatening to all other great apes other than humans. The zoo keepers kept telling her not to do it, but she would ignore them and say she had a 'special connection' with the gorillas because they would 'smile back'.
He started screaming and yelling "help me, help me" As the lion got closer. The Lion ran to him and said "Shut up! You are going to get us both fired!"
The woman was interacting with Bokito through the pane of glass which should never be allwed in a zoo gorilla's environment, after keeprs warned her not to...for years, every day, she would do this and make direct eye contact with the silverback.
I remember in the third grade, we went to a field trip to the Big Island. One of our teachers, who was from their told us about her experience that day. They had to evacuate their school when she was a child. According to her, she had missed going in the first bus cause it was full(the student in front of her was the last to get on the bus), so her and the rest of the students got on the second bus, then left. She told us on their way to their destination, the first bus she was supposed to go on was in the ocean. RIP to those who lost their lives that day
