try with gray girl R:128 G:128 B:128 instead of black colour to hide the transperncy. you will get semi transperancy effect for your object. it for fan by Dave it is good tutorial for beginners like me thank a lot for sharing !
I'm having an issue where my label is showing on each side of the bottle. The texture in the file runs off of the canvas, I'm not sure if this has anything to do with that. But I can get the label perfectly positioned but then it shows on each side of the bottle. Any ideas?
i've tried it an for the most everything worked, however, when using glass/transparent materials, i can see through - the shape on the inside of the bottle, the shape that was used to make the bottle in 360 rotation, how do i get rid of it. i can also see it in your example. is there something somewhere i can turn off? thank you. app.box.com/s/uitdf50bejb7afvwhjwf
I have a trouble with the label tht I want to put on a side of the bottle, the problem is the color tht I try to paint on the texture in extrusion materials layer doesn't appear as well as the label on the other window. Is it because of the texture ?
+little pineapple Sounds like the light/shadows on the model is affecting the colour and making it lighter or darker. If your opacity has been lowered, it will affect the colour also. If you would like an unlit texture showing on your model (Just the colours, no light or dark on the object) I think this can be changed in 'scene' in the list of items in the 3D menu. There should be a drop down menu in properties that says 'unlit model' or something to that effect. This laptop is refusing to boot CC for me to check
I followed this and I'm stuck with two things first the original black shape you created the lathe from is still visible. Also when I render it finishes the render and just vanishes off the screen! I'm starting to think this isn't a commercial way of creating 3D artwork.
Difficult to know what you are seeing form the comments, The silhouette when lathed might have an outline because we do not join the mesh at the intersection. Photoshop is not a "modeling" program like a Cinema 4D. Commercial art is relative www.behance.net/francoisveraart created "commercial" 3d art with photoshop. It's how you use it.

You could create a second mesh and merge it into the wine glass. The trick would be to align it nicely. You could, for example use the top of the glass as the shape, lathe it > think of it as half a sphere shape. Then scale it to about ~98% to fit IN the glass. Probably would be easier for me to create a video one day...

That might mean either: 1. the extrude should be more or maybe less 2. the original line/path for the lathe may not be straight Just a guess without seeing it.

You can place any art on the bottle by opening the texture. First Have the Properties Panel open. Then click on the bottle once to select mesh then a second time to select THAT texture. You will the Properties Panel reveal all the Materials. You want to OPEN/EDIT the Diffuse texture. Then once the texture is open you can Tile your Windows (Windows > Arrange) and experiment > save texture and the 3D canvas will update to show you what you have changed. I hope that helps a little :)
shoofirbin In the more recent versions of Photoshop > You can use under the 3D menu > Generate UVS to create unique UVs for your model. And this get you what you want.
Yeah Daniel, a video would be better, because in theory, I thought I knew how to do it. But when trying it, I gave up. What about refraction for example? How does PS treat the "wine"? As a solid threedimensional body? Can`t wait to see your video :)
+Sofia Ferreira That artifact you see when you lathe the mesh is just the way it is for now. The meshes are not joined so it leaves that artifact. It's really hard to minimize. But you could clean it up in another application like cinema 4D, sorry about that :/
+Lengo67 Normally anything you open new, or a texture you click edit on will automatically open in a new tab. To get things showing next to each other in the same view, first open or click edit etc on everything you would like. Up the top, if you click on 'Window' (In between view and help) the first option down should be 'arrange' Mouse over that and it will give you options as to how you would like everything arranged. The more tabs you have open, the more arrangement options it will offer you.
If you are referring to generating unique UV maps then you would need a more robust 3D tool. But if you just want to create different UVs you could generate new UV's > ru-vid.com?o=U&video_id=eqZvPGnhM-o

im not very familiar with Photoshops 3d tools, but a CAD type software (AutoCad, Solidworks, Rhino, Sketchup) will definitely achieve what you looking for with relative ease
At 3:08 I open the diffuse texture. Once the smart object is open you can add on that layer anything you like, the key as shown at 4:00 is placing it correctly. There is a video on UV's and how the are the directions for how a texture/image is placed or wrapped on the 3d object.
Paul Berger no i gave up. tried everything. and switched to fusion 360 for what i needed. results are amazing, although fusion has some issues as well and has a bit of a learning curve. it's free though and it's rendering engine is nice, many awesome materials. PS is really not cutting it for 3D just yet. gleikh3d.tumblr.com
