Hi Andrew, may i ask you to teach us the difference between "lately" and "recently", please? Thanks a lot

Basically 'lately' and 'recently' both have the same meaning. The only difference I can see in them is that 'lately' might be used to talk only about recurring events as in 'Lately I've been feeling under the weather'. Equally, we could say 'Recently I've been feeling under the weather'. However, when talking about a recent event in the completed past, only recently would work: 'I saw an old friend recently'. The sentence 'I saw an old friend lately' would be incorrect. Hope this helps.

Gee whiz, that would take a really long time to go over all that. But I'll say 1) it started in England and 2) can an accent be wrong if it exists?
