I love this sister. I was devastated. I was like she was in this world 🌎 and she gone. She still is the only one that can bring tears 😢 to my heart ❤. Peace.
I meet my husband in 1986, and the first song he ever dedicated to me was, this song...I will cherish it forever! I lost him to cancer, but gain him to my Heavenly Father " I LOVE YOU DAVID". Always your wife Ruby =)
Crying right now bc she died on the day she was to perform with them at the Apollo. Although it's my 1st time hearing this tune, I'm dying inside listening to it. I loved her so much.
Depression is a very serious thing to deal with. It's so sad how her emotions were toyed with. Like any human she just wanted to be loved. When she took her overdose I cried like a baby. Her music can't and will never be touched by anyone. Every time she came to Baltimore I was right there. She's truly missed.
Stacey imurgift Rice I’m from Newark nj and she came and performed at symphony hall . She had a beautiful voice man bring tears to ya eyes. This is my favorite song duet she’s done ✅
IS THERE A SONG THAT PHYLLIS CAN,T COMPLETELY MAKE HER OWN. THIS SHOW,S HER VERSATILITY WHEN SHE HAS TO ACCOMPANY A GROUP. THERE WILL NEVER,EVER, BE ANOTHER SINGER TO MATCH THE EMOTION, AND STYLE OF PHYLLIS HYMAN. YOU ARE ONE OF A KIND PRETTY LADY, AND I MISS YOU DAILY. REST IN PEACE.
The whispers have always been my favorite male singing group, Phyllis Hyman my favorite female singer, together they sing love songs that are sweet and powerful. And give full meaning to the phrase “I love you” Love songs that will last so long as people have hearts. It’s sad that we lost her.
Phyllis Hyman is one of the most talented singers that ever lived. I love her music and may she always rest in peace. What another beautiful soul lost. Love you and your music forever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What a beautiful song I was 19 when this came out I played this on my cassette when ever I picked up my girlfriend she loved it and I thought we would be together for ever
Its extremely important/ necessary for us to express our love and appreciation to others/ love ones, it makes a lot a difference in one’s life . This is a perfect duet combination of 2 magnificent singers. Song is a summary of what genuine love entails. I keep replaying this song over and over with tears 😭 music really express the inexpressible for real 😮 None comparison. Sounding better in 2024
I miss her so much!!!! the day it was announced I sat in my door way crying like a baby. I didn't know she was battling with bipolar, a true loss for the world!!! REST IN PARADISE SWEET LADY!!!!
This is so beautiful, and The Whispers are the right match with Ms. Hyman. It's 1:00 a.m. in the morning here in Biloxi, MS and I've been listening to Queen Phyllis Hyman for at least an hour. Her voice is so soothing and beautiful just as she is herself.
I fell in love with sultry artist. Her voice is very captivating. She is very talented. What a lost to the music industry. She had a hard time finding inner peace.
wow I am a true fan of the Whispers and Phyllis Hyman and this is my first time hearing this. Phyllis voice was and is one of a kind. She was a true song bird.
And to think that within an hour or so, they (The Whispers & Ms. Hyman) were to appear on stage together, when word reached the Whispers's room that she was dead. With grace and typical Whispers class, they carried the show on, dedicating it to this Grand Dame of Song. Love this rare piece "Suddenly" and just wish they had done more recordings together.
I was at that concert-cried my eyes out the entire time. It was to be the first time i got to see Phyllis live. **Sighs*** She was and is such an influence- one of a kind!
@@paulaharrismusicvideos, wow. That must have had some profound impact on you that evening. Life is that way it seems. Just full of "Suddenly" moments of happiness and sadness.
This collaboration is masterful. I don’t know why this didn’t get a lot of airplay when it was released. The first time I heard it was in a record store and I’ve been in love with this song ever since. No doubt there would have been more collaborations like this were it not for her untimely death. We miss you Ms. Hyman. See you in the resurrection in paradise. (John 5:28-29)
I always thought I would use this as my Wedding song, but I never did. I was married 15 years ago at the Courthouse and I am Blessed to say we are still in Love more today than the day we Fell in Love 17 years ago 6/28/97. Rell and Al 4ever. Classic Song
I felt so helpless, watching Phyllis sitting at a table all by herself, in a posh lobby area, and no one came by to talk with her, down at Atlantic City. I was with my fiance. None of our African American brothers approached her that night. They all went right past her and went into the Casino. I could never figure that out. It broke my heart seeing her alone as people walked right past her. Phyllis went into her pocketbook and got some tissues to wipe the tears from her eyes. THE QUEEN OF MUSIC ROYALTY WAS LEFT ALL ALONE. True Story.
I've been an admirer of Ms.Phyllis Hyman & the Whispers since the early 70's, and I'm practically ashamed to say that until now, I had NEVER heard this. What a dynamite combination: Phyllis Hyman & the Whispers......damn. Their respective managers certainly deserve a "Gold Star" for coming up with the concept. I personally don't see how this collaboration could have been anything less that spectacular. They certainly proved me correct.
Wow i didnt know she did a duet with the wispers this is a shock to me and i guess many others Phyllis was just so talented the wispers well u could not deny their talent the best i heard im an Og we had good music coming up old school the best jmack
Phylis Hyman and The Whispers, I wondered how they couldn't have done a collaboration. They sing the same genre of music, they are great singers of mélody. I mean....this is great. Ms Hyman, you left a big gap but, your music just keeps living. Rest soul Lady!
July 6th: Happy birthday R&B-Soul-Jazz Singer-Actress Phyllis Hyman (1949-1995) "Sophisticated Lady" on Broadway. Thank you and God bless. RIP. Thanks for the upload, SweetGeorgiaPeache. Blessings
So very beautiful! When I saw this song listed, I couldn't wait to play it. I love Phyllis Hyman and I love the Whispers. How could this song not be simply beautiful? I love it. Thank you so very much for posting it.
On June 29th it would be 25 years that she took her life who would have thought that a lady so beautiful and so talented will be so depressed depression is a real serious thing may she rest in peace
