SHARE! I remember 1979 like it was yesterday, DJ dropped the original release in a night club, filled the dance floor, plenty of re-winds, ran to the record store the following day, the rest is history. O ONE LAST THING! still sounds good today as it did then (just under 40 years ago) R.I.P. Phyllis, always in our thought..
Paradise Garage.....when they played this at 5am Sunday morning it was nothing but love and dancing and happy faces. So beautiful are my memories. Now I’m 59.50 years young. Wow. This was heavenly. Just listening and tapping my foot 🦶🏼. Thank you for this. Made me smile 😊 corona virus 🦠 go away. Ms. Hyman truly loved and missed 💐💐💐💐🕊🌹🌹🕊 5:50 whoa 👍🏽✊🏽☝🏽beautiful!!!!!!!
I fell deeply in love with Ms. Hyman and her bedroom eyes. So I was quite the mess when I stood right by the stage when she performed at the Garage. RIP.
I don't think most people realize how amazing a singer she is! without Phyllis there would be no Anita Baker, no Toni Braxton, no Brandy, no Jasmine Sullivan, etc, etc, et al.
Daniel hoco Feri She is a point of reference, much like like we look to the works of "the Canon" , Phyllis's vocal prowess being soulful and rough like that of Big Mama Thorton combined with the polished, silky sound like that of Gladys Knight and we give way to the sound we have come to appreciate in singers like the aforementioned.
I WAS DANCING ALL NIGHT IN ZANZIBAR IN NEWARK, BECAUSE THE NEXT DAY I WAS ON MY WAY TO FORT JACKSON FOR BOOT CAMP /U.S.ARMY. A NIGHT I'LL NEVER FORGET, I CAN CLOSE MY EYES AND SEE IT CRYSTAL CLEAR, REST IN PEACE QUEEN PHYLLIS HYMAN
R2: Phyllis was one helluva singer. This mix just pops & bounces with a vibrancy that matches the original Phyllis track. Utilising mostly original elements it stays faithful to the original but highlights certain instruments & vocals in different areas. A must listen.
LOVE a comment like that....we should have a youtube 'night' somewhere in the world...I'll bring this together with my other vinyl and we can all have 30 minutes....bars on you Lloyd????
Played this at a birthday party a bunch of years ago and those "of a certain age" jumped up and danced their a$$es off. Asked me to play it again. I completely understood. what a jam! Motown forever!
Listen brv u could still drop these tunes in 2030 soul music is timeless I've been into this music since I bought my first bit of vinyl which was circles Atlantic star which was 81 or 82 can't remember now iam 53 and these tunes are still fresh but big up too u for bringing this music too the younger generation nuff respect.
Phyllis Hyman comes in my mind all the times. I loved this woman and her music picked me up a many of day. I only wish she would have known her worth. To many great hits to name. Love you
I love this remix. Specially The intro ... a classic from an incredible artist I really wish it was on USA iTunes :-(. So I Just keep playing over and over ....... thanks for posting this gem !
When a song is a classic it's pretty hard to expand on it or revise it without destroying it . Joey has kept the integrity in it's original format while putting a pleasant spin on it . very enjoyable
Rip To my girl Mrs Hyman music will always live an will always be a winner one of a kind voice wanna wish her an family Happy Hoilday's for 2019 peace an love:

I saw her perform this in San Diego-it was the first-and only!-time I ever yelled and screamed and lost all “cool” at a concert. When I learned of her passing shortly after, I was deeply touched and saddened. How could someone project so much love (hear “living inside your love”) not keep some for herself? Hers, was a profound talent.
Yeah, I knew she held it a lonnnnnng time, but they fade it out in the original version. I’m glad he got the masters so we can hear her properly carry and end the note. Amazing.
